    I installed new brakes flushed the old brake fluid, new master cylinder and still had mushy brakes. So thats why I installed the gmt800 mc, I dont know the difference but now my brakes are way better.

    One thing thats going to help with braking is installina a 99-06 silverado brake master cylinder, I got mine on eevayy for $30, the fitting was only$3 from vatozones. The difference was night and day, no more mushy brakes, tight and close.

    $3,000 budget, advice?

    Go with a carbed ls, and get a tuned pcm from lextech to control and tune your transmission, you can use same water hoses, powereteering pump line, alot of things will work. You can do the ls swap under 3k if you do your homework and if you do everything yourself.
