    Help with ignition Timing

I went ahead and replaced the distributor, spark plugs, and fuel filter. Problem seemed to go away after the fuel filter was changed. Went and drove it this morning and its back to running like crap again. One thing I noticed was that yesterday was warm. 72 degrees. Today was mid 30’s. I got the...

    Help with ignition Timing

Oh ok thanks. I really dont see a reason why revving to 2500 rpms or so while setting timing has an ill effect. I wanted to see if the mark on the balancer moved through the rpm range. Thats what it feels like its doing under load. It will bog, and power fluctuates until about 3200-3400 rpms and...

Thanks for the replies. Inwent ahead and put new plug wires, new coil and ignition control module. I set the timing at 0 degrees (bottom of the largest valley on the tab). It still doesnt run right. The distributor is tight. Its throwing the electronic spark error code also, when the check...

    Help with ignition Timing

My 94 recently developed an issue with sluggish acceleration under load until about 3200 rpm on the tach. At that point it picks up and starts pulling like normal. I replaced my cap and rotor because they had some corrosion on the terminals. I also replaced the Tps thinking that it was bad. No...

    9.25 ifs suburban swap

I decided if anything ill swap in a solid axle up front instead of fighting with it. Since my last post ive cranked the torsion bars, added bilstiens, all new ball joints and an alignment. 2” blocks in the rear.

    Broken winch...need advise

I was given a mile marker 12000lb winch by a buddy of mine, its an older one with the collar style clutch selector. Anyway the cross bars broke their mounting ears on the drum support opposite the motor, and mile marker no longer sells a replacement. Previous owner spooled too much cable on one...

    Gear Ratio decision

Ive got 3.42 gears in my suburban and when i put the 285’s on it got sluggish like youre talking about. I figure if you had a 4.10 it would feel like stock with 35’s and a 4.56 gear would probly put you right where you want to be fuel mileage and towing wise. Thats what i would go with if i was...

    9.25 ifs suburban swap

Im going to see if there is a way to use the 9.25 with all of the 1500 front end parts with some mix matching of cv axles. Not really swapping into a full 3/4 ton suspension i just want the stronger diff and rear axle.
