    1993 Sierra 5.7 K1500 auto rattle/vibration noise FIXED!

You guys aren’t going to believe what ended up being the noise I was hearing! Out of desperation I set my phone to record and set it down on the floorboard while I got under the truck while it was running and tried to feel around again for what might be the issue. Got back out and checked the...

    1993 Sierra 5.7 K1500 auto rattle/vibration noise FIXED!

I did put a new water pump on it while changing out the camshaft/lifters. The noise only appears to be coming from the floor/transmission tunnel area. Maybe its just a coincidence that I noticed it after the cam break-in. I've never heard a noise like this before from a vehicle and it seems to...

    1993 Sierra 5.7 K1500 auto rattle/vibration noise FIXED!

It is engine speed. I can rev the engine in park or neutral and the sound will speed up. Putting it in 4lo or 4hi doesn’t change anything either. Thanks for mentioning motor mounts. I’ll have to check those and the transmission mount. The clunk you hear at about 10 seconds into the video I...

    1993 Sierra 5.7 K1500 auto rattle/vibration noise FIXED!

Hello everyone, I’m looking for a little help identifying the source of this strange noise my truck is making. Oddly enough I noticed it for the first time after breaking in my new oem style camshaft and lifters. Break-in went well and I noticed the noise when I was done setting the ignition...

4.3 tbi wont start, need help!!!

If its getting fuel and you don't have spark check out the ignition coil. Did the new distributor come with an ignition control module? If not, that could be suspect too.

A shop performed the rebuild so I'm not sure what was used during break in. I remember when I picked the truck up they told me to change the oil after 1k miles. Ever since then it ran and drove great until the recent issues I faced when creating this thread. I wasn't aware of how important zinc...

After many months I finally have a resolution to my miss/stumble at idle! I finally put a vacuum gauge on the truck and idling it would show around 17 inches vacuum but the needle was constantly fluttering over 17. To eliminate a faulty gauge I put it on another truck and the needle was solid...

1992 K1500 Blazer-700r4 torque converter not locking up at all.

Is the engine getting up to operating temp? The ECU needs to see a certain coolant temperature before it locks the torque converter. When the weather started to cool down my 92 c1500 torque converter would not lock unless i drove it around for a long time to get it up to operating temp. I found...

Stock 1992 c1500 700r4 TCC lockup conditions? (Fixed)

You were absolutely right with the thermostat being the issue. I changed it this weekend. Turned out the truck had a 195* acdelco thermostat installed but it looked like it was pretty old and the spring pressure felt weak when opening it by hand compared to the new thermostat. My guess is that...

Stock 1992 c1500 700r4 TCC lockup conditions? (Fixed)

Quick update- Drove the truck on a 10 mile round trip to get a new 195* thermostat and only on the way back to work did it finally lock the TCC. Stayed locked as it should the whole way back driving 45 mph. Got back to work and checked temps on the various sensors with my digital thermometer...

Stock 1992 c1500 700r4 TCC lockup conditions? (Fixed)

Thanks for this information. I think i'm running too cold as well. Outside temps now are in the mid 60s so when i head out for lunch in a bit ill take some more temp readings with my thermometer when i get back and see if there is a noticeable difference.

Stock 1992 c1500 700r4 TCC lockup conditions? (Fixed)

I bought my 92 c1500 with 100k miles last month in early September. It has the 700r4 transmission and shifted perfectly while it was still warm last month. Now that outside temps are cooling down I've noticed that it takes around 10-15 minutes of driving for the TCC lockup to occur at speeds 45+...

Update- Installed the ac delco ignition coil but unfortunately no change. I haven't changed the ICM yet. I was thinking that the ICM would be one of those things that either works or doesn't but may change it this weekend to verify. Just about out of ideas on things to look at. It's a shame...

I haven't tried the water test with the coil yet. I went ahead and ordered an acdelco coil and ICM. Will hopefully arrive in the next couple days. I'll keep you updated on how it runs after swapping them out.

Thanks for checking out my log file. I got my adx file from tunerpro's site. That makes sense about the KR data being strange. I used the formula it has and inserted my battery voltage as "x" and sure enough it comes out to the 22-23 KR my logs were showing. I went ahead and removed KR from the...

The distributor in it now is a Spectra Premium from Orielly. The coil was replaced a few years ago but to rule it out I pulled one that looked "almost" new off of a junkyard truck to make sure mine wasn't the issue. When the coil was replaced a few years ago the original must have shorted on me...

Well guys I have some updates after working on it today- Right away I did a dry compression test and I'm very happy with the results: Cyl 1: 160 Cyl 2: 160 Cyl 3: 165 Cyl 4: 165 Cyl 5: 165 Cyl 6: 165 Cyl 7: 160 Cyl 8: 160 I set the static ignition timing with EST wire disconnected back to 0*...

Tried the other adx file. I thought one was for auto transmission and the other adx file was for manual but the other adx file for my year truck just shows live data on the transmission such as fluid temp, etc. I'll be doing some test this weekend to see if I can narrow down this issue.

    WinALDL or Tunerpro help

I think you might be right, I see there are two adx files for my truck using tunerpro v5. My truck is an auto and I may be using the adx file for a manual transmission. Currently just "key on engine off" it goes right to 23 knock retard so something must be up software wise. I'll change to the...

This engine has been rebuilt and bored .040 over with about 35k miles on rebuild. Other than an rv cam and high volume oil pump it is stock. The heads recently came off due to a blown head gasket (exhaust gas in coolant). We believe head gasket failed because a shop replaced the ICM and coil and...

    WinALDL or Tunerpro help

Timing was originally set to 0* but a local shop set it to 6* when they had the truck to perform a diagnosis. That was a disaster so I got the truck back and have been determined to fix it myself. I replaced the knock sensor last night thinking the old one could have been signaling for knocks...

Following playingwithtbi's advice, I was able to get my computer connected to the truck to view live data. These screenshots were taken with the truck idling in park at full operating temp. Anyone able to see what might be the issue? I also took a recording while idling in park, idling in drive...
