4L60E option or just go 4L80E

I currently have a '90 RCLB with 350 TBI with 700R4, that I plan to do an engine upgrade on. No LS swap, just a more stout 350/383 with a target of 400 hp/400 ft. lbs. I've never been a fan of the whole TV cable setup with the 700R4. Part of the plan with the new engine is to go with a Sniper 2...

Aftermarket heads & OEM accessory drive bracket

What, if any, aftermarket heads (prefer aluminum) are compatible with the OEM serpentine accessory drive bracket with no modifications necessary. Specifically the '90 version.

Wanted - parking brake arm for rear drum shoe

I was doing the brakes on my 1990 RCLB, and the old passenger side shoes got mistakenly tossed in the trash before removing the parking brake lever. I still had the driver side though, so was able to transfer that over to the new set of shoes. If anybody has one laying around in their shop...

    1990 Silverado 5.7 TBI RCLB

Due to relocation, and not having space to work on this in the future, I will be selling this 1990 Silverado. Original owner was my stepdad, and it became mine when he passed in 2019. The truck has the 5.7 TBI engine and just recently turned 138,000 miles. It has the maintenance records since...

    Dome/footwell light issue

This past weekend once it got dark out, my wife told me that the interior lights were on in the truck. I checked it out, and even though all of the doors were closed, the dome light and the footwell lights were on. I opened and closed both doors, and the lights went out after doing this with the...

Drop spindles and stock control arm issues?

So, I'm getting ready to buy a 2/4 drop kit for my 90 RCLB, and have done a lot of research on the various manufacturers, or so I thought. Based on what I had found previously, I was most likely going to get the McGaughys kit with the drop spindles for HD brakes. Well, today I'm browsing...

    Almost thirty

My stepdad recently passed, and I was given his 1990 Silverado that he bought new in August of that year. It just crossed 126k miles on the trip from Michigan to Ohio yesterday. It had sat for a bit over a year, but once the battery was charged it fired up fairly quickly. I think the first...

    Ridetech

Has anyone installed a Ridetech lowering kit? From the info I've seen, they seem to have a quality setup, but pricier than competing manufacturer's similar drop kits? Only option they have is a 4/6, at least for now.
