Sweet... Great tip. I am going to do that for sure. I agree about the paint match. It is part of the MO of this truck. Simple, clean and easy to maintain.

The inner wheel house on these beds is where all the crap collects. They came out pretty easy.

Does anyone know where I can find this steering wheel?

https://www.carid.com/steering-wheels.html That looks like a B&I replacement steering wheel. They are specific to the vehicle so it depends on your rig.

Aervoe Olive Drab. 34088. It has a flat velvet look about it... very nice. There was one gallon left in the shop, but the spray can version is available everywhere. Had we know they did not sell it by the gallon anymore I would have went with the Gillespie paint. After a bit of research I am...

This is the main reason for finding the 4.3. Millage is surprisingly good. This one needs to be run a bit as it has been sitting for over a decade. Now that the tune-up is done it sounds pretty sweet. It should be a solid running truck.

I have a crazy idea for the stereo install. The truck will look stock with nothing to steal. The stereo will be completely invisible. Someone on the forum has done something similar. I want to be able to leave the truck open without worrying that some jack ass will screw with it.

Thanks! They are custom rims. Cop car rims with the centers pressed out and then pressed back in backward to match the offset. I wanted 16" rims because the tires are plentiful and cheaper. They also fill the wheel well much nicer. This is a daily runner so I don't need big brakes and 6 bolts...

A couple of little cracks to repair, but the bottom side is clean and sprayed full of good old Tremclad.

Here is a closer look at the custom rims. They are cop car rims with the centers pressed out and then pressed back in backward to match the offset. I can, in the future, redrill the valve stem so it is on the correct side. Right now I am leaving it. It is weird... but I like it. It is not that...

Box is prepped 16 inch rims with reversed bells... the valves are now on the inside. Her stance is now as it should be. Looking pretty balanced. Front toe hooks are on as well. The rim and tire fill the wheel well the right amount. Now it takes pleasure way 215/85/16’s... cheap tough rubber!!

After metal prepping twice it gets a coat of Endura epoxy. Some more primer and more sanding. The Grill is a fit. Aervoe military paint... This was the last gallon in the shop. Aervoe does not sell it by the gallon anymore(unless you buy 100 gallons) so I guess the box will be done...

I had never seen those plastic caps prior to getting this truck. GMC was so cheap when they put this thing together that they did not even put an accessory light switch on the passenger side. Yes, that too is covered with a little plastic cap. Super funny.

All the panels getting prepped and straight. The truck is disassembled and old glass is removed. New rocker panels. Cab Corners in... looking straight. Old school. No panel bond. Window removal and blast prime are essential. All these trucks have this issue... it is not all the way...

I love this. I will add tow hooks and Bush Bar for sure. I am going to use 5 bolt 16 instead of the 15s... I will be able to put transport tires on it which will make it look more like a CUCV and make tires cheap and readily available.
