350 TBI Boggs and surges under load

I had a 94 with 5.7 TBI that was doing the same thing. I replaced plugs, wires, rotor, cap, and icm (ignition control module). None of it helped. Then I happened to read, on some obscure and now forgotten corner of the web, that an overheating icm can cause this exact issue (runs fine when you...

New "Econo" paint job and mild bodywork on 96 'Burb

Sounds like you got a urethane base coat/clear coat paint job, which is like the one applied at the factory. The cost of the paint is significantly more than the enamel paint they used on mine. Plus is more labor intensive, with multiple layers of base and clear. Your paint job will look much...

New "Econo" paint job and mild bodywork on 96 'Burb

I know. I couldnt believe it either. They were running a New Years "paint any car for $350" special. With the body work, extra coats of enamel, and coat of clear it came out to just under $700 tax and all

New "Econo" paint job and mild bodywork on 96 'Burb

I am very pleased with the results. I took it to a local "Econo" paint place because the factory paint was heavily oxidized all over and peeling on the hood and roof. They smoothed out a few dings, sanded down to bare metal 80% of the truck, primered, sprayed it with Emerald Green Metallic...

    1997 Chevy Suburban

My '96 Burb has factory true duals. Cats are in place, followed by a magnaflow with a turndown on each side. Sounds deep and throaty but not super loud.

96 K1500 Burb seems to not be getting fuel. Cranks but wont start. Need advice please

Finally got the Suburban running. The new fuel pump/sending unit that I bought was defective. I ended up buying just a pump and swapped it into my old sending unit because I discovered that, for folks with Suburban and Tahoe, the sending units are differently shaped than pickup sending units...

96 K1500 Burb seems to not be getting fuel. Cranks but wont start. Need advice please

That's what I thought too, just have not been able to find a direct source to confirm So that would mean that, if hypothetically the black/white wire was not grounded properly, it would not prevent the pump from working. It would just prevent the gauge from working. So im at a loss. Maybe...

96 K1500 Burb seems to not be getting fuel. Cranks but wont start. Need advice please

Yes, there is power on grey when cranking I do not here pump priming. It will not come on at all. But I have verified that there is power on grey wire for 2 sec when key is turned to run, and there is power on grey wire when cranking The only thing that I have not been able to verify is if...

96 K1500 Burb seems to not be getting fuel. Cranks but wont start. Need advice please

96 K1500 Burb seems to not be getting fuel. Cranks but wont start. Need advice please

I'm in the process of retesting now. The black with white stripe in 3 pin connector is a ground correct? I'm a relative novice with a multimeter. But this one should show 0 ohms, correct? I know grey is power to pump and purple is power to fuel gauge.

96 K1500 Burb seems to not be getting fuel. Cranks but wont start. Need advice please

Yes, I've tested the relay and it is good. I tested the pins on the 3 way plug underneath going to the fuel pump and it is good. Everything else tested good. That's why I thought the pump was bad.

96 K1500 Burb seems to not be getting fuel. Cranks but wont start. Need advice please

So I drained and dropped the fuel tank and replaced fuel pump. The pump still will not run. Where do I go from here ?

It doesn't get more reliable than a well maintained GMT-400. I'd rather buy a few inexpensive parts a couple times per year than have a $500 car payment every month

    Suburban small "lift"

@socal k1500 Here are pics of CV axle on my Suburban. This is with about ~2" to ~2.5" lift via torsion bars on level ground. The ride is tolerable, but it's not my daily driver either.
