    GMT400 - Community Scan Tool

See post 145 - 150. Are you putting the bare wires into the correct spots in the diagnostic port? I got it to brrrr momentarily, thinking it wasn't correct. Seems a moment is all that is needed.

It does OBD 1 or 2, depending on which cartridge you hook to the scanner.

    GMT400 - Community Scan Tool

I'm sending this thing out to next on list on Friday. @Illbedipped , shoot me you're address. No real luck ... I show no abs codes, but can't seem to get the actuators to cycle and stay on to bleed at the wheels. Only when I hook up the multi-1 or jumper the ports A & H. Just a...

    GMT400 - Community Scan Tool

@studigggs ... I got the multi-1 adapter out if the mail this morning. I'll give it a shot this evening when I get off work. Does it go into the port on the 'burban or the MT2500? The loose wires with male ends seem to go into the vehicle port and the harness adapter goes into the device...

    GMT400 - Community Scan Tool

Sadly, no ABS love for me and my '95 OBD1. It's working on engine stuff .... O2 sensors, IAC, Coolant temps, open/closed loop, idle speed, etc ..... but no ABS. The good news is there's no codes stored at all. Air bag, engine, etc... all good... and no check engine light or other lights on...

Scan tool arrived today!!! Going to do some reading on getting the abs to link up tonight. Hope to cycle my ABS brake solenoids this evening or tomorrow evening. With luck, I can bleed the brakes Thursday or Friday evening. @Illbedipped , you still next? Pic for content verification.

    GMT400 - Community Scan Tool

Ni9efingers ... I'm wanting to cycle my '95 ABS system, also. If you get any tips/ideas on getting it to work, I'd appreciate a little help on mine. That's all I wanted to use it for. According to my read of the thread, HopHead357 is next .... then me. Copied from my previous post: LTC is...

    GMT400 - Community Scan Tool

LTC is supposed to forward to N9nefingers. - HopHead357 - bugdewde (me) - Illbedipped - Raycecar I should only need it for 1 day .... to cycle my ABS solenoids to try and bleed my 95 OBD1 brakes. I don't believe there are any other issues with my Suburban (no other lights on dash). Good luck...

    95 K2500 SUBURBAN ABS BLEEDING ?

All new stuff ..... fancy red calipers are barely visible. Lol.

    95 K2500 SUBURBAN ABS BLEEDING ?

All done..... bled it a few times and its greatly improved. Activating the solenoids would probably make it even better. One issue was the steering damper taper didn't match ..... so my buddy just cut it and drilled and tapped it to accept the bolt.

    What have you towed lately

Had to rely on the trailer brakes on this one. Taking the Suburban down to my buddy's place for a front suspension/steering/brakes rebuild. ... AFTER the Burb's only working brake caliper went metal to metal (also during a 300 mile Miata tow job). Had to tow the Jeep, so I'd have a ride home...

    95 K2500 SUBURBAN ABS BLEEDING ?

New calipers, rotors and hoses are installed. We gravity bled them a bit and then manually bled them. Doing the burn in, or seating of the pads, they seem to be a lot better now. No pulling to the right anymore . Pedal seems a bit spongy with some travel .... but its been soooooo long ago...

    95 K2500 SUBURBAN ABS BLEEDING ?

Thanks, I read that the other day ... however, it seems it's stalled out and appears to be stuck somewhere a month or so .... not looking very promising.

    95 K2500 SUBURBAN ABS BLEEDING ?

Yes, I'm replacing the soft hoses and the calipers. Suburban is at my buddy's place about 30 miles away. Once we get all the new stuff installed, I'm pessimistic about the brakes magically working as they should. Since the ABS is the only thing not getting replaced, I assume the worse...

    95 K2500 SUBURBAN ABS BLEEDING ?

1995 K2500 ... OBD1 ... no scanner I'm replacing my front brake calipers, hoses, unit bearings, idler, pitman, etc ..... I've owned this rig for almost 4 years (15k miles) and the brakes have SUCKED since buying it. I mostly only use it to tow my car trailer which is the only way it stops...

No rear lights ... 3rd brake light does work

Thanks guys .... I found the issue. Much ado about nothing! Lol..... Was able to see it right off thanks to you guys. The harness behind the bumper came disconnected. Looks like the trailer wiring harness. Seems the retainer tab is broken. Zip tie to the rescue.

No rear lights ... 3rd brake light does work

Understanding the flow of power tjrough the switches would help. - So you're saying the 3rd brake light powers BEFORE the steering column? So the switch on the pedal should be good, as the 3rd brake light works? - Leaving the hazard switch and the turn signal switch the next possible...

No rear lights ... 3rd brake light does work

Trailer lights do NOT work either. Tails, brake nor blinkers. However, the trailer brakes work (actual brakes, not the lights). Unhooking the trailer pigtail does not fix anything. Hooking up to another trailer does not fix anything. Both trailer's lights work when hooked to another...
