Antenna socket size - Which Lisle socket?

I'm trying to remove the antenna on my 1996 Yukon, but the nut is being difficult. I've tried placing a slotted screwdriver in a notch and tapping with a hammer, but not luck. All I got was a chipped edge on the retaining nut. What size Lisle antenna socket is needed on these trucks? I don't...

Cracked Rear Main Seal Housing installing oil pan stud ....

I was installing a new Felpro oil pan gasket on my 1996 5.7 Yukon and when I installed the rear stud into the Rear Main Seal housing, I cracked the housing where the stud goes on the driver side. I was following my Chilton guide which said to use 18 ft-lbs for oil pan nuts and bolts.... It...

    Help with harmonic balancer

Noticed the balancer goes past the seal... smh.... All good now. Just waiting on the Permatex Ultra Black to cure. Didn’t catch the 24hr cure time on the package.... what’s the preferred gasket maker for this type of work? Thx everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Help with harmonic balancer

Here’s the tool setup: Thanks for the explanation of sealant on the key way. For the crank snout, wipe a thin layer on there before installing the balancer? I’m guessing the ID of the balancer pushes the sealant back to create a seal. But doesn’t that cause a problem if the sealant...

    Help with harmonic balancer

I have one from Harbor Freight. The bolts that connect to the balancer are too short to drive the center shaft against the crank bolt. I started using the small cone on the tip but was getting nervous when wouldn't move. If I use an impact gun with the cone, do I run the risk of damaging the...

Does that imply that it would come off with the weatherstripping if it was removed? After removing the other trim pieces of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How to remove kick panels ??

Thx! I was concerned about the bit of plastic that’s wedged between the dash and the door that is covering the weatherstrip. If the bottom can flex enough when pulled out, it should slide down? Thx again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Coil Spring Compressor Tool

I did this combined with a ratchet strap to help pull the spring into the LCA cavity as the floor jack lifted the LCA. Jack an inch or so, check tension on strap, repeat until spring slides/slams into place. It’s nerve wracking. The various compressors failed me because the new variable rate...

    Coil Spring Compressor Tool

While you’re that deep in the front suspension, you might consider replacing the engine mounts while the bolts are easy to access with the LCA down/loose/off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Coil Spring Compressor Tool

If you install new coil springs like I did on my 1996 Yukon, be aware that new springs are variable rate so the spacing between the coils at the top don’t allow much clearance for compressor mount hooks using the typical compressor you rent from the auto store. Might find some good info here...

    C3500 front spring reinstallation

+1. This is how I did the coil springs on mine. Held the spring in the upper pocket with the LCA and floor jack. Used the strap to help pull the spring into the LCA pocket as you use floor jack to raise the LCA and compress the spring. I learned the hard way you need to completely wrap...

    Help removing rear lift glass

I want to take it off to have a better chance of painting it and repairing the hole for the 3rd tail light where it's rusting through. It also looks like it may be easier to install that top weather strip with the liftglass out of the way. East302, I can see where the electrical can disconnect...
