    anyone derby??

15 years ago I started Derbying. My first one was by far the best one. Ran 2 heats. 2cd one is the one I caused serious trouble in. The car was a 1987 Crown Vic Stock run what you brung. Rules were basically stock vehicle and suspension with the only exceptions to the battery and fuel tank...

    700r4 issues!!!!

I am by no means a transmission guy. Couple things to check if you can. Is there any debris in the pan? You would have to remove the pan to look. If the pan is reasonably clean, then I would suggest checking line pressure. A gut instinct without actually driving the truck would seem to me that a...

    Guess that car.

No problem. When I come across more, I will post. People love doing this to vehicles out in my slice of heaven. That car that is near impossible to identify by sight is this one. Found in the same vicinity as the classic Dodge. This is the only pic I took of it cause I wanted to get pics of the...

    Guess that car.

So....Living in the American Southwest, I come across some things. In the past, my travels have led me to find typical everyday cars abandoned out in the mesa. Over the weekend, flying past an arroyo, I catch a glimpse of something odd. 2 cars. One so badly damaged and buried in the sand...

    Sal's K2500 Dana 60 Solid Axle Swap

@strikk, I know how that is, Wanting to see a look of progress. Dont blame you. I know you are going a different direction with your steering but I will get a pic of how much clearance my set up has so you can see how much clearance I got. Hopefully it will give you some ideas to yours when...

    Sal's K2500 Dana 60 Solid Axle Swap

Based on your last pics here....I see a crossover steering bracket. The perspective of the angle makes it kinda hard to see but it looks awful close to level with that leaf. Under articulation, will that cross over clear the leaf? I only ask cause I am using a D50 diff and I am gonna run with...

Wanting to Buy a GMT800 Rear End

@Carolina_'99Hoe......In my line of thinking, the disc brakes need more fluid to operate. I agree that a proportioning valve is needed, but I do not think it will change the pedal height or firmness with discs on the rear. I have read from numerous sources that stock masters with a drum system...

    98 Crew Cab 454 SAs

The hardest part of this is part gathering. Finding the right parts at the right price. If money is no object, the sky is the limit. If you are balling on a budget, then its a tedious task. Its taken me nearly 7 years from planning to part gathering to starting the build. My build is a D50 and...

Wanting to Buy a GMT800 Rear End

The master is no big deal. A little bit of research and you can find the right master. I would find and test fit a master from the truck you are pulling the rear axle from. That would have all the right specs for the brakes. The hardest thing from my perspective is finding a place that will help...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

@NightRunner ....Agree. Would of been nice to talk to that person to see what was done and why. I did read he used a D44 P drop front diff. Not that it matters, but I am going with Ford axles to keep lug patterns and wheel widths the same and a driver drop cause they are more readily available...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

@NightRunner .....to follow up your CL link, I called and texted but never received an answer on either end. The area code is somewhere around the Abilene area. He does have one pic of the rear and while its kinda dark looks like he just plated the rear and moved the shackle bracket down. And...

Wanting to Buy a GMT800 Rear End

When going from drum brakes to disc brakes, you will need to get a master cylinder to match otherwise you will have a weak brake pedal. Just a FYI.

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

The air up would be for towing since there would be weight in it. No weight, I would presume that the truck would sit level. I would imagine airing them up without weight would be the look I am trying to get without the airbags. So....in my line of thinking and hopefully on the same page with...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

That beam walk....I have that. But generally when braking while empty. At least for my truck. Since my truck normally carries a crap load of weight, The only time I get a vibration is when there is mud in the wheels. For re-inforcing the frame, I was figuring another ladder support once I get...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

Do you think there would be uneven leverage on the frame even if the leaf springs were brought down level? If so, would reinforcing the frame help? Now I understand that they are different vehicles and different applications....bear with me while I try to explain....The Ford Superduty...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

@Biggershaft96......I agree with those angle that they would be undesirable. IMO....I know I could use some plate to lower the front part of the spring down to level out the spring pack which when first confronted with this, I thought about doing but stopped cause of the rear bracket design...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

I see. I will wait for him to reply to get his thoughts and see what he means. Based on the designs he provided, I think that would work well. That design seems like a longer version of whats on the market now. Interested to hear his thoughts on what he means by a bad design.

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

@Biggershaft96......With the right grade of metal, proper thickness and proper bracing, why would you consider than a shitty way to get it done? Not asking to be combative. Want to know what the cons are to that design? I mean, I think that would work and work well for the long term. But want...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

@Tavi....would you happen to know of a source I could look up to see what others have done in fabricating brackets or possibly a subframe? I initially thought of a sub frame myself but didnt know if I could keep it localized to the rear portion of the leafs or if I would have to build a set for...

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-
