Need help with upper control arm problems.

Sorry... no time to hunt but just Google offset control arm bushings... you will get plenty of hits. Just make sure you get 2wd bushings... they are 41mm OD where 4wd bushings are 43mm

Amsoil Engine Flush? Should I Do It?

Like anything else, it is a matter of personal preference. At 115 k, I would not think a flush is needed unless the previous owner was neglect in their maintenance duties, or you are unsure of the truck's history. Having said that, I can share my own experiences... 4 different trucks... 88...

    Door Panels

Apologies if this question is answered elsewhere... I'm looking for correct door panel clips for my 94 k1500 ecsb. I've ordered a few different ones and also looked in the popular auto parts stores with no luck. Every one I have seen have the same problem. The head of the clip has a flat "bar"...

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

BTW, If you're putting this much effort in to restoring your front suspension and steering, don't forget to replace your rear spring bushings, (front and rear), and the rear leaf hangars. Thrust angle will affect how well your truck tracks after the alignment, especially if your bushings are...

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

If you look at the top coupler, you will see two long ribs about 1/2" wide running the length of the coupler on opposite sides. Over time these ribs will get spread out or widened from forces of the pucks inside. If you put the ribs, (while still fully assembled), in a vise and clamp them down...

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

Brad, Nuts on top as you would see them once installed. Yes, all 4 the same direction to avoid any clearance issues. Forgot to add to reuse the original steel top and bottom safety/retainer brackets.

Pull your old shaft off. Get a NAPA 630-1440 rag joint kit. Get 4, 3/8 X 1 1/4 long, grade 8 bolts and nylok nuts. Throw the hardware away that comes with the rag joint. Drill or ziz wheel the rivets off. Clearance bolt holes in flanges. Bolt together with nuts on top. Separate shaft and clean...

    Another TBI running rich

In my instance, it seems as though the rich stumbling issue happens just as the ECM goes closed loop. I checked ecm ground at t-stat bolt which was clean and not corroded at all. Wire to crimp terminal solid... I did replace coolant temp sensor with a Standard Motor Products replacement and it...

    Another TBI running rich

Ok... Been watching this thread in hopes a solution would be found.. My 94 k1500 5.7 ecsb with 294k orig miles started doing the same thing. Cold start starts instantly and cold high idles perfectly for about 15-30 seconds, then goes rich and rough idle for about 1 minute, then clears up and...

Adding Trans aux cooler need advice

Never, never, never bypass the "in radiator" factory cooler. Talk to any good trans shop and they'll tell you the same thing unless they're stupid. Water draws heat off much faster than air. Adding an external cooler, (and inline filter), is a good mod but run through the stock cooler first.

    IFS offroad durability

Roy, You ask a fairly loaded question! First think to think about is how is an IFS differs from solid axle. Solid axle is beefy and less likely to fail compared to the factory IFS, (especially when you add the weight of a Suburban body)! But... IFS allows for better tire contact to the ground...

Shocks and front end parts advice

Jeff, I know Mevo is a Canadian product but don't trust them out of national loyalty! They aren't bad but for the labor time invested, go with Moog "Problem Solver". They aren't too much more and worth saving up for. If you go with Moog upper arm assembly it already has their best parts. If you...

    Rough starting idle

My bone stock 94 k1500 recently started doing the exact same thing... your description sounds like you are talking about my truck! I have eliminated any possible issues from plugs, wires, IAC, O2 sensor, distributor, reluctor, ICM, TPS, EGR valve, EGR solenoid and coolant temp sender, I have...
