    Gmt400 body on a k10 chassis

That's my bad. I read it somewhere but either me or them was smokin crack I guess

    Gmt400 body on a k10 chassis

That's just what I've seen. I've had 4 gmt400s and never seen one with a good frame. On the opposite end between me and my buddy we have 4 like new mid 70s frames and only one cab that holds water that we bought from California

    Gmt400 body on a k10 chassis

Ive got all the **** for a sas. Except a truck to put it on. Lol. My frames been welded back together more than once. I'm rebuilding this k10 from the ground up anyway. And had already intended on using my nv3500/np241 in it with the ford d44 I bought to do a sas.

    Gmt400 body on a k10 chassis

I've never actually seen one. Just read somewhere on the forum here that the Brazilian gmt400 was based on the k10-20 chassis instead of using the newer one

    Gmt400 body on a k10 chassis

Over a k10 body? Quieter, better insulated, power seats, more room, better steel. Over a gmt400 frame? Less prone to rust, sold axles, and I have one

    Gmt400 body on a k10 chassis

So I see people go the opposite direction but I'm actually curious if anyone has put a 88-98 body on a 73-86 frame. IIRC gm did this for the Brazilian market and I find it quite alluring. I've got a 98 exsb with a good body and a 74 rclb with a good frame. Just wonder what y'alls...

    TBI idle problems

The driver side squirts, the passenger drips, at idle. The both squirt good when you hit the throttle. But that brings a lot of hesitation I don't know 2 things about tbi stuff. But I'll find the IAC and I'll clean it Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

    TBI idle problems

So, I'm messing with an old 1 ton square body with the 5.7 TBI. Fukin thing don't wanna idle. It just barely hangs in there. Couldn't find any obvious vacuum leaks. Pulled the air cleaner and it's sucking air like a hoped up Hoover. Sounds like a jet plane. The driver side...

Help identifying two connectors under bench seat

Probably just a leftover for air lumbar. Most manufacturers do this. It's easier and cheaper to make one harness for everything than a different harness for every single option. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

    Bellhousing Bolt Question

The bolts are 14mm. With a few having a 13mm nut on top that hold various brackets. They are beyond a pain in the ass. I usually do three from the bottom. The rest you get by straddling the engine. And using every type of wrench at your disposal. I don't remember how I dealt...

    Clutch hose to JIC conversion

So I accidentally melted my clutch line on my new exhaust. And I dread buying another $70 hose and f**king with that worthless quick connect on the slave I've seen adapters to convert the master cylinder to #4 jic. Is there a similar option for the slave cylinder. Or does the silly quick...

Hp Dana 44 build for sas, what axle shafts?

So I have a 79 f250 Dana 44 housing and I'm going tomorrow to get a complete 78 Chevy front end to steal the outers from. So my question is what axle shafts do I use. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

    Tbi 350 to Vortec 350

Agreed. Choppy idles sounds good. But usually come with a gang of other problems. Low vacuum, no low rpm torque, finiky cold starts, ect... You can achieve a similar effect with a mild cam and very low rpm idle. But that will depend on how strong your oil pump is, and if your efi will let...

    Tbi 350 to Vortec 350

I wonder if it would be easier to just use a 4bbl intake, and one of those bolt on efi systems. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

    Tbi 350 to Vortec 350

Something else to keep in mind. Factory vortec heads are only good for about .450 lift. They also use self aligning rocker arms. Are you swapping the whole system. Ecm and everything? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

    Tbi 350 to Vortec 350

Ok, well I'll answer what I can. First. Vortec heads use a different bolt pattern for the intake. So vortec heads need a vortec style intake. As far as I know you don't need to drill anything. Vortec heads also have a much smaller combustion chamber than the tbi ones so double...

going with a carb'd small block

I guess it depends on if he plans to "remove" the electronics as opposed to just "unplugging" them. And conveniently there's already a switched 12v wire for the factory distributor Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

going with a carb'd small block

Believe it or not, all the gauges should work fine. They're not pared to the computer. Even the tach feed can be hooked up to an HEI Note. I don't know if going from a v6 to a V8 would through the tack off though. Might want to look into that. Assuming you have one Sent from my SM-N960U...

going with a carb'd small block

Well. I'll answer what I can. 1. Depends on what small block. If it's a 1-piece rear main then yeah should bolt right up with the later style flywheel and clutch. If it's a 2-piece block then I believe it's a bit more complicated. I read somewhere about using a 2 piece style flywheel...
