    Help with o2 sensor testing

I had this same problem on my '98. Truck was running rough too. Checked the codes and came up with the same. heater circuit fault bank 1 sensor 1 is the upstream O2 sensor on the drivers side. Mine was burnt to a crisp. Popped a new one in and presto problem solved.

    Intermittent misfire and trouble codes...

Yes and no. It was off but while trying to rotate the cap it bottomed out so the deduced it was off a tooth. I can’t recall exactly how off it was but for your case like mentioned I’d try rotating the cap some more. If you reach max adjustment and it’s still off then I’d bet it’s off a tooth.

Black box tuned and spare 411 value

i found a black box that has been tuned by BBP for sale and dude told me to make an offer. Can’t tell me about the tune other than it shifts better and egr delete. What would fair value be? He also has a 411 he’d throw in the deal.

    What am I missing?

I figured it was time to change it out. 262k on the dash might as well safe than sorry.

    What am I missing?

Non abs issue. Light works and stays off after start up. Looked at the MC and looked as if it could’ve been the issue leaking down. Replaced that and while bleeding the brakes made it to the drivers caliper only to find it was seized. All said and done the issue is resolved.

    What am I missing?

Shoot I completely over looked that. I don’t pay attention anymore when I turn the key on. I bet that is pricey for a shop to do.

    What am I missing?

The rear brake line rusted through and I replaced it with a stainless steel one from LMC. Checked all fittings and all is sealed, no more leaking brake fluid. Properly bled the brakes, steady stream on each wheel. Pedal isn’t as stiff as it was and the brake light will come on when pushed all...

    Signs of a cracked head?

I didn’t even think about that. Makes sense and might have to give it a try this weekend. Feel like I’m running on borrowed time though at this point.

    Signs of a cracked head?

That is what I dread but alas nothing I can do about it but accept it and move on. Wish there was a way to tell besides pulling the heads...

    Signs of a cracked head?

Thought it might be the radiator just wanted to be sure. The p/o installed a new radiator and I’m sure they too were chasing a leak because I saw traces of stop leak in the radiator fluid. I thought about replacing it as well and if not we’ll never hurts to know what ya have and I’ll know it’s...

    Signs of a cracked head?

What plastic are you referring to? Im almost positive it’s the head which there’s no point in putting new heads on with the amount of miles it has. Sure I could pull them off replace them and while I’m there put new bearings in and re ring it and put in a cam. After all the time spent it’s not...

    Signs of a cracked head?

I bought my 98 with the vortec 350 with 252k miles and have been having coolant issues since day one. First was the water neck in the intake, next the intake gaskets blew out a month later, then the water pump started leaking from one of the weep holes. After water pump change I went to recheck...

    Dual electric fan wiring...

The kit I bought only had one relay that is supposedly good to run 2 fans. Their instructions were crap. Luckily I just remembered I folded it up and stuck it in my pocket so here’s a picture of it There’s written instructions on the back that are completely vague. I was told that the temp...

    Dual electric fan wiring...

Well I looked at the RPO code and it shows z82: TRAILER PROVISIONS, SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, H.0. No relay but there is a slot for AUX FAN @Ken K

@Ken K thank you that answers a lot of questions. I’ll check tonight when I get home and I’ll look up the rpo codes to see if it has a factory tow package.

    Dual electric fan wiring...

Awesome info. I was planning on getting a tune. I was going to use BBP but I may go locally with a company that will dyno tune it. Thank you for sharing.

    Dual electric fan wiring...

Probably this summer hauling hay I’ll let them run open and get replace the trans cooler with one that has a fan as well. I was wondering about running it off the sensor on the thermostat housing but not sure how to go about that either. I was told that I can’t tap into the gauge since it is...

    Dual electric fan wiring...

It’s a 1998. That’s what I was reading when google searching. Everyone was tapping into the A/C but not sure about where to tie into. In the winter I can get away without running a fan but Missouri summers a fan is a must. I tow roughly 3-4500lbs of square bales so max cooling is a must.

    Dual electric fan wiring...

Replaced the water pump on my 98 silverado yesterday. Already had two 12" electric fans and a wiring with relay for dual fans so figured it is a good time to install while the clutch fan is off. Is there a better way to install this kit...

    Auxbeam LED headlights

I like it mainly for the simplicity and ease of instillation, that and I do not have to pay for shipping from LMC. Its only a 20 min drive. If I would have had the extra wires laying around I would have built my own.

    Auxbeam LED headlights

Yes sir. There are 4 that are 194s and the buttons (a/c, recirc air) believe they’re T5 or 74s These are what I used for those buttons

    Auxbeam LED headlights

Yes just slightly. Not like my gauge lights but there is some slight blue hue to them. I will say this though, not enough to bother me. Not like the HID blues you see sometimes.
