    Which Pads?

What’s the best way to break in or condition these Raybestos GG pads?

    Which Pads?

Thanks everybody. Looks like I’ll go with the GG from Raybestos.

    Which Pads?

I haven’t bought brake pads in a few years. What pads offer the best stopping power? I don’t care how fast they wear since I don’t put many miles on my Suburban but when I do I’m usually loaded down and need the most stopping power I can get.

    Evap Canister Close Valve

Not sure why it is typically sold with the bracket. Pick n pull might be the way to go.

    Evap Canister Close Valve

Having trouble finding a new one. I have an evap code and I had the shop smoke it. They said it was the vent valve that is mounted to the side of the canister. I guess on some it's called the close valve. Anybody know where I can find one for a 1999 Suburban K1500? The shop said that GM no...

    Maybe my MC is faulty.

    One Braided Line

Yes, they are way too long. Whoever installed them tie wrapped them in place loosely. This one simply worked it’s way towards the wheel and rubbed a hole through it. I lost all brake pressure and was 300 miles from home. Fun!

    One Braided Line

Front passenger wheel rubbed a hole in the braided brake line. Where’s a good source for buying a replacement? I’m having trouble finding any. ‘99 K1500 Burb.

    Hidden Winch Mount

Rough Country offers their “Hidden Winch Mount” for the 1500 but not for the 2500. It’s a mount plate/bracket that tucks the winch behind the stock bumper. Just wondering why it wouldn’t fit on a 2500. What’s different right behind the bumper on the 2500 compared to a 1500 that would cause a...

    Hidden Winch Mount

Rough Country offers this for the K1500 but not K2500. Anybody know why? What’s different on the 2500 that causes an issue?

    Lost Front Brakes

The front passenger line was rubbing on the inside of the wheel and sprung a leak. Thank God it ruptured while I was stopped and not traveling fast. I know the front and back are separate systems but with no front pressure my pedal would go easily to the floor and it wasn't till the last inch...

    Too Much Steering Assist

So, unscrew the line and screw in this adapter then screw the line back in?

    Too Much Steering Assist

Still confused. It went from too stiff (not enough assist) to waaaay to easy (too much assist) by changing gear box. So are there different boxes? I have the pump with the bypass tube instead of an evo so what gear box do I need? The way it is now, I have no feedback feel from the road and when...

    Too Much Steering Assist

Definitely too much assist way too easy to turn the wheel. When I had the old gear box out I could turn it by hand way easier than the new one so if anything the new one is stiffer. The other thing I forgot to mention is I have a pretty bad fluid leak and it looks like it's coming from the...

    Too Much Steering Assist

A while back I replaced the evo pump with a new one that has the bypass tube Also replaced hoses. The steering was quite stiff like it didn't have enough assist but I drove it like that for a year or so but never was happy with it. Then just recently I replaced all the rest of the steering...

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

Well, dang it, I still don't get your description of the ribs on the top coupler. I'm very interested though. Any way you can find a pic and point to it?

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

Had to put two each direction. Wouldn't clear with all four one way. Also, can you clarify this: "Clamp the upper coupler ears in a vise and slightly pinch them to reduce slop/play."

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

Thanks. You say "nuts on top". Which side do you consider the top and you run all four bolts the same way instead of two each direction?

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

Yes, it's for my '99 K1500 Suburban. I have a bit of play in the steering wheel and want to replace everything that can contribute. I purchased new steering box, center link, pitman arm, idler arm and bracket, inner and outer tie rods. I know the rag joint can be a culprit and I also know the...

    Lower Intermediate Steering Shaft

I'm replacing all of my steering components and have ordered everything but this shaft that includes the rag joint. It was GM# 26033170 and looks like it is discontinued. I see that Dorman makes one but would like to know if anyone knows of or recommends another brand.

    Pulsing Lights

Just to follow up, I installed a new alternator yesterday and that solved the problem. All good now. Also, replaced the idler and tensioner while I was at it. Man, the old ones were rough. Much smoother and quieter now.

    Pulsing Lights

All good suggestions guys, thanks. Is there a way to test the output of the alternator? Can places like O'Reilys or Autozone test it?

    Pulsing Lights

Every light in the entire vehicle is pulsing. I don't think it's a random flicker but more of a steady rhythmic pulse. It only occurs when it is running. I've checked battery and ground connections. Is this sounding like an alternator problem to you guys? Is there a way to diagnose? Brad
