    Weird stalling issue

Turns out it was the distributor, it was so worn the it would not properly advance when you put it in gear so it would stall the motor out. I've had this happen once before years ago and i had forgotten about it. Dropped a new one in, runs like a top now. Thanks guys for all your tips

    Weird stalling issue

It revs fine too, I can punch the throttle and there is no stumble at all, idle drops right back where it should. Could that still be IAC?

    Weird stalling issue

As for the AC it doesn't work, that was my next thing after the brakes. I'm not sure about the idle stop solenoid, I'm thinking no, but I will have to look to be sure

    Weird stalling issue

I'll give the IAC a shot, but I really dont believe it or fuel related. I thought EGR at first too but I ruled it out also.

    Weird stalling issue

Idle is around 700rpm, I'll have to see if there is a way to upload a video here, then you can see exactly how it is acting.

No I took it to a friends to do the brakes because my garage wasnt finished at home. It hasnt moved since. I'm very confident in my brake work.

    Weird stalling issue

So it could still be the TC itself? The truck is stuck about 40 minutes from home, I'm waiting for a friend of mine with a rollback to go get it. I'm just trying to get ideas where to look for when I do.

    Weird stalling issue

Ok, the truck ran fine one day, I parked it. Changed the back brakes. Got in to test and that's when it started doing this. So let me get this right, if I unplug the 4 pin and it still stalls, then it's not the tc or the solenoid?

    Weird stalling issue

I know it's hard to explain in print, but yes you hit it on the head. If I am holding the brake and put it in gear it kills it. But if I have enough room and drop it in gear with out holding the brake it will go till I try and stop it then it dies. I was wondering about the converter if it...

    Weird stalling issue

No it stalls when I put it in gear, its almost like the transmission stops the engine. It's like holding the brake pedal on a standard transmission and letting the clutch out.

    Weird stalling issue

I'll try to explain it better, it starts and the motor runs smooth, it revs smooth. The moment you shift from park to either reverse or drive it kills it. It's not an intermittent problem, it happens every time. I can get it to move by putting to t case in low and not using the brake. If that...

    Weird stalling issue

I'll check but it really doesnt act like a fuel related problem.

    Weird stalling issue

My 88 K1500 350 auto overdrive, Truck starts perfect, motor idles and revs perfect. As soon as I put it in gear it dies. It will move if I keep the idle up and stay off the brake, but obviously that's hard on a driveline. Is there any idea of what would cause this? There is no sputtering or...

    4l60e swap question

Ok come on guys every time I think I have a good trans something comes up different. What would be different in the bell housing? Only thing I thought might be different would be the converter. I just need to know if I can make it work, if not then I'm not going to waste the money on it.

    4l60e swap question

What's different with the bell housing and converter? 4.3 uses the same bolt pattern as the v8. Please explain a little better so I'm not hanging on a half way answer.

    4l60e swap question

Pretty simple question, will the 4l60e from a 98 small blazer with the removable bell housing swap into a 97 suburban without the removable bell housing? I know I'll have 1 less clutch pack but that I'm not worried about, I'm not doing any towing with it. Just want to know if it's a direct swap.

    5.3 and trans swap into a 97

Hadn't planned on any big mods, may do headers and new cam and such while I have it out already.

That I understand, thank you, so that will have to be done before it will ever run. Now I'm getting somewhere

Why do I need to retune my donor computer?

    5.3 and trans swap into a 97

Mechanical abilities are not an issue, but seems my main issue will be wiring. I have both complete vehicles so what ever I need from the donor will be here. You all are making it seem really hard but from what read as long as i have the harness and computer from the 01 it's just a matter of...

    5.3 and trans swap into a 97

That seems like more work then it's worth, gauges are completely different from 97 to 01. My understanding for the engine it's just a case of motor mounts and using the engine harness and computer from the donor truck. And a couple small things. My issue is the trans, wiring. Looks like I'm...
