    Suspension questions newb aussie

That’s a flip kit. Springs are supposed to go on top of the axle. As far as the front it’s probably either drop springs or drop spindles.

    Transmission crossmember for SAS project

I’ll be putting it in today. I am am running an 80’s np208 with th400 trans. And pretty much based the design on the 80-87 Chevy W style crossmember that allowed the transfer case to hang down below the frame.

10 bolt to 12 bolt swap

I made a 12 bolt fit in the gmt400 series trucks. I’ll take some pics later tonight, but the spring perch mounts were about 1.5” to 2” narrower than our trucks. You’ll have to cut off the spring perch and weld new perches or make an offset plate that centers on the old perch and saddles the...

    Driveshaft questions.

Thanks I’ve looked at that as well. What I’m trying to figure out is the joint to joint measurement so I can know what to look for at the junkyard

    Driveshaft questions.

Ok so I just swapped in a 14bolt sf in my 93 Chevy SAS and I am ready to go look for a drive shaft. I found all the info listed on tomwoods driveshafts, but I’d rather find one from a junkyard. How do you determine the drive shaft length required based on the measurement from the transfer case...

Rear disc brake conversion keeping 15” wheels

I’m going to post the CAD files tonight when I get back home. Been to busy with the trucks I’m working on to get the pricing situated with my local steel supplier.

14b sf 6 lug wheel size.

im getting ready to buy a new rear end for my project and had a couple questions. I know the 14 bolt is stronger, and that the 10 bolt doesn’t do good against 35” tires but what size wheel can I run on a 6 lug 14 sf rear end? I’m currently have 15x10’s with 33x 12.5r15 and will be going to a...

    Tahoe (minimal) rear wheel spacers

You only need 1.5x diameter engagement in the lug nut. The studs are 14mm (.551) x 1.5= 0.8265 wilhich is just above 13/16” I was able to run 5/16” spacers on my truck without any problems with engagement. If you have short studs, and won’t have at least 13/16 engagement, then yes you’ll need...

rough country ss braided brake hoses

I used the ORD ones below. And they are excellent quality. http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/braidedbrakelines.htm

    Tahoe (minimal) rear wheel spacers

All you would need is 1/4” spacers per side. When only using a 1/4” spacer you don’t lose enough engagement in the lug nut to worry about longer studs.

    Auxbeam LED headlights

Neither did I at first, but as I read up on it an saw all the available wiring diagrams and write ups available on this site showing it was just a few relays I decided to do it my self. I ended up going to eBay and buying rolls of wire and relay kits for less than I would have paid for the LMC...

    SAS 2wd

I used the ORD brackets and 2.5” lift leaf springs and ended up with about 7-8” lift over the 2wd ride height. And this is how close the factory engine crossmember was to the axle. So I ended up cutting it back up and boxing it in

    Auxbeam LED headlights

The harness and 4 hi mod is overpriced from LMC. The majority of what your getting is relays. I made my harness and 4 hi mod for about $20. I am also running LED headlights

    SAS 2wd

I’m in the middle of my 2wd SAS. Engine crossmember needs to be cut and trimmed. Best to cut off control arm mounts flush to frame to make clearance for headers. I’m using the ORD bolt on kit. With 79 Chevy Dana 44. Th400 trans and the np208 transfer case. I designed my new crossmember and just...

    97 k1500 sas 6lug

Yes but you need to make sure you wheels will clear the Dana 44 hub as the 97 hub is a lot smaller than the Dana 44 hub. My Dana 44 hub is about 3.5” but it’s from a 79 k10

    8.5 10 bolt 30 spline carrier to 28?

I haven’t been able to find anything but 3.42’s and occasionally a 3.73 rear end at the yards by my house. Unless you step up to 3/4 ton but then it changes to a 14 bolt.

    89 Brakes

Most 89 RCSB I’ve seen have the 1” thick rotors. When I did my brakes I swapped in the 2500 series calipers, gmt800 master cylinder, and new brake lines. Brakes work great now.

    SAS Questions

I am designing and fabricating my crossmember for my SAS. I based it on the design of the W Style crossmember from the 87 square body trucks. And I’m using an NP208 with the Tom woods SYE and a double cardon drive shaft from Tom woods. The 208 will hang down below frame unless you can clock the...
