    $550 for complete. But usually here some has already taken stuff . So you would be better off not buying stuff you have already like alternator, ac pump etc. So like the video states. Dont worrry about the motor. Swap it run it. Dont waste time with a machine shop as they cant match factory...

    Ill check it out. Yeah its sad its cheaper to just let it fail and then swap. I think a complete motor without accessories is $255 here

    Im sure the metal has been floating around in the motor for a while. It didnt just happen. So its probably simpler for me to have her keep driving it till it gives up. I can buy a junkyard motor for less than it would cost to fix this one

    Ok. Well it does have a small exhaust leak. I forget where Maybe a broken bolt on the manifold if i remember correctly. It sure would be nice if this was from a previous repair. If i pull the valve covers, what exactly should i look for? The motor from this guy sounded like more trouble than...

    I found a guy local with some kinda built motor lol. A 5.3 with a trailblazer ss cam and some 5.7 heads and arp head studs, the front cam sensor. Says 98k from a 03. But to me too complicated . If im going that route i want a swap and go. So i guess this thing has non re usable headbolts?

    I wont. Do you think one of them might be the cause? I had to pick up some tools to remove the balancer so ill start on it tomorrow probably. I was hoping she would say get rid of the pos.

    ford used something like this on there roller cam 302. Probably a much better design than the plastic crap. So i wonder if my plastic trays are bad? Hmm. Where am i going to order them from

    Yeah so i guess whats the easiest way to pull the cam shaft lol. Ive already pulled one from a 99 suburban should be the same. Cost $28 at junkyard.

    Then again it might still be possible to be a bearing? I didnt realize they were magnetic also. So steel coated with babit?

    Yeah. We are going to replace the motor or tear it down. Its still pretty hot in Arizona. But ill definitely remove the heads and cam before i buy a junkyard motor. Wish this was a sbc 350. Having to pull heads to remove lifters is stupid

    Ok, so there hasnt been any glitter in the oil ever, ive changed it probably 4 or 5 times. Previous owner had alot work done but never this. The original owner sold it with 140k . I got it last year with 180 something and its at 195k now. Any suggestions ? I probably cant trust the motor now...

    Its the only thing that makes sense. Shouldn't that make some pretty good noise? Whats the cause normally? The edge of the metal here has almost like a chrome lip. Its pernounced.

    Way too big and thick plus the shear indicates that it came off something bigger . The shape and curve rules out valves

    Yep 40 45psi at idle according to gauge, it goes up pretty high at higher rpm like 75

    Someone had removed the pistons so i was able to save alot of time. Tomorrow ill have to removevwhats left of the harmonic blancer and disect the oil pump .     I tore down a junkyard 5.3 today It doesnt match the camshaft. Doesnt match the crank, doesnt match the valve train. The pistons and connecting rods had been pulled. Tomorrow ill rem9ve oil pump and see if it looks close

    It does seem to fit the description. The first peice was over a year ago. Exactly the same characteristics.
