I found similar where it seems like nothing changes the mileage. Towing, empty, hauling, etc. I did get better mileage re-gearing to 4.10 from 3.73 with the larger tires on. Economy is better towing in 3rd for me as well as opposed to lugging it in OD. We all know these trucks are pigs, for...

1997 K2500 Burb MPG? You?

I have a similar setup. 1995 K2500 suburban on 315/75R16 (34.6"). Bone stock 7.4L TBI motor (with an open element air cleaner and cowl induction hood), 4.10 gears, 3inch body lift with an iron plate for a front bumper. Towing in 3rd at 2500-2800RPM a 7000lb travel trailer. Worst MPG was 8...

I've got the 4.10s on order and pricing out some 33s with a staggered wheel setup. Trying to tuck those fronts in a bit more... Debated keeping the 35s and going 4.56 but less rotating mass is going to be helpful here and I can always throw the 35s back on when not towing. I still plan to tow...

Towing Newbie - questions

Using the Grimmjeeper ratio calculator it looks like 4.10s and 33s gets me a little better than stock size on 3.73s which would be rated for 8000lbs. As long as the temperatures stay within spec, any issues running WOT for extended periods of time?

We did, it's great! Have a Nintendo NES Classic hooked up to the TV as well :banana-mario: We only have one kid camping with us so no need for a bunk model and the two recliners work as beds in a pinch.
