    Running rich? P0172, P0175 codes.

Can someone help me make sense of this? I’ve replaced the ECT Denson and I’m getting the P0172 and P0175 codes which say that I’m running rich, but when I look at the data grid my Air Fuel ratio is coming back as lean. Some symptoms: - My mileage has dropped significantly - there is a...

Brake pedal goes to the floor...

Thanks Gibson. I had our shop here in town bleed the brake system, they cycled the abs and all is well again!

Brake pedal goes to the floor...

Looking for a little help with my brakes. I have a 1997 suburban k1500. The previous owner swapped in rear discs. I then, installed a NBS master cylinder and everything was functioning extremely well. The 10 bolt gave up the ghost a couple weeks ago so I swapped in a 6 lug 14 bolt sf. I...

Long Term Lower Ball Joint Test: Moog Vs. Mevotech

It’s time for some new ball joints, last time around I picked some up at the local parts store... I know, I know, bad idea. They lasted just over 2 year until the oh so familiar “clunk” made itself known. I’m pretty good at keeping up with the grease gun so I attribute failure to the quality...

    Murphy’s Law

Nice! I found one through LKQ for $35 and paid a local shop $100. Didn’t want to risk breaking the window on install. How did yours turn out?

i plan on installing the hydroboost system tomorrow. From what I understand I should have a shop bleed the brakes due to the ABS. What was you experience?

    Hobbs 96 Z71 Build

Hey man, That’s one fine truck you got there. I especially like the color scheme. Are you doing the paint work yourself? Would you mind sharing the specs of your rims?

Hydro Boost: what am I missing?

I sourced mynpedal from the same vehicle, 97’ 3/4 Suburban. Where I live there isn’t a whole lot of options in the local pull-n-pay. Sometimes I find what I need on FB marketplace from people parting out vehicles. Sorry to hear about your booster. I’ve seen rebuild kits but I have no idea...

    Look what just came in!

The effort is about the same. Replacing the steering shaft eliminated any play in the rag joint - the rubber spaced incorporated into the lower portion of the steering shaft. I would say the steering box accounted for 75% of the total steering play. All other components contributed the other...

Hydro Boost: what am I missing?

Pretty sure the hoses from the original unit. I’m still researching how everything hooks up. This is the thread I’m going off of: http://www.gmt400.com/threads/gmt-400-hydroboost-swap.13105/ After reading through the thread again the pressure lines go from the pump to the hydro and then from...

Hydro Boost: what am I missing?

From what I understand: Hydro brake booster and master cylinder, brake pedal from same vehicle, a hose retrofit to send power steering fluid back to the PS pump and the time to put it all together. There may be more but I’m not too sure.

    Look what just came in!

Finally got around to installing the new steering box. The end results are incredible and as of now I would recommend the Red Head unit if your considering this replacement. I forgot what it’s like to have 0 play in the wheel. Within the last 50,000 miles I’ve replaced all steering components...

Hydro Boost: what am I missing?

Thanks for the help guys! I found a gentleman parting out an 04’ Yukon xl and picked up the entire unit including the hoses for $70. The other unit is on its way back to Rock Auto.

Thanks! Too bad it won’t be visible. This is the first step to my Hydroboost brake conversion. My stock box it leaking pretty badly and can’t have that in the brake system.

    Murphy’s Law

if it can go wrong... it did... Must have picked up a rock while mowing this evening. Shattered the rear window of the burb. Looking for some advice. How hard are they to remove without breaking? I would like to get one from the local pull-n-pay as opposed to paying $350 through LMC. Should...

    The Member Truck Thread

Thanks! I’ve wrestled with selling or trading but then I look at it and think “it’s still a good looking truck.” As for the plans: - New Paint, same color scheme - 6 lug 3/4 ton rear axle, waiting for one to pop up at our local yard - re-upholster seats - new carpet - headliner - upgraded...
