Bad IAC now? Won’t idle down with IAC unplugged and ALDL jumped

I decided to get an ALDL/Bluetooth and TunerPro and get a better look at what's going on. I should have the tools in a few days :)

Bad IAC now? Won’t idle down with IAC unplugged and ALDL jumped

Well. That was a waste of $9.19. Sigh. So. When you do the process above does it command the iac to extend all the way out? Wondering if I stopped at that point and pulled the iac would it tell me anything?

Bad IAC now? Won’t idle down with IAC unplugged and ALDL jumped

Well... I did this at lunch today Just for clarification: You jump the pins, turn the key on (not starting it) wait 30 seconds, then unplug the IAC, turn key off, remove jumper, start truck, adjust idle, turn truck off, plug in IAC. No change. I got a fresh base gasket to put in this evening...

Bad IAC now? Won’t idle down with IAC unplugged and ALDL jumped

I really do need to get an ALDL connector and some software :) I'm all set for OBDII, but not the old ones.

Bad IAC now? Won’t idle down with IAC unplugged and ALDL jumped

So after a tbi replacement and doing the idle setup all was well for about 100 miles. Then it started dropping waaaay low at idle sometimes then normal then low again. Basically had no brains about idling. I decided to do the idle setup again. So I put in the ALDL jumper, disconnected the...

New (reman) Throttle Body. Won't run and backfires like a bad timing chain. FIXED!

Awesome... a paper clip saves the day again. :) Plugged "gm 350 tbi base idle" into a browser and followed the directions. Now my gas pedal works again! Thanks all.

New (reman) Throttle Body. Won't run and backfires like a bad timing chain. FIXED!

Hello.... I put a reman TBi unit on my 1994 Suburban K1500 5.7 today. It was REALLY hard to start, then it ran ok for a bit. Put it in gear to do a driveway test ( I have a REALLY long driveway :P ) and it died. On restart it was bucking and backfiring like it had slipped a timing chain. I...

Power Seat Base for 1994 Suburban

Will any of the later power seat bases fit in a 1994? My second junk yard power seat base/motor croaked and I swapped to a manual seat, but it really just isn't working out well.

    1995 K1500 Sticky Accelerator

So my '95 has a "catch" in the pedal travel. Seems there is a plate down there with a slot where a roll pin rides to center the pedal assembly right to left. A notch has worn in the plate and the pedal sticks now and then. Not a comforting feeling. Anyone have a clue where to get just the...

Power to Manual Seat Track Conversion?

So with the power seat in a mess .... has anyone swapped from power to manual seat tracks before? GM still lists the parts...

Are Seat Motors Available - '94 K1500 Suburban

I've been searching parts vendors for a couple of days for the back/front adjuster motor and found zilch. I think it would be easier to buy a unicorn. :)

My door wiggles after hinge pin replacement

I just replaced the pins and bushings on my 1994 Suburban and now the door wiggles! It opens and closes quite nicely but when I'm running down the road it wiggles and rattles. I'm wondering if maybe the striker needs to be adjusted or replaced? The bouncy rear view mirror is crazy...

'94 Suburban K1500 for Medium Duty Towing?

Thanks ya'll. I finally got it running good enough to even bother :). The temp coolant sensor had gone bad and the poor truck thought it was freezing cold all the time. Didn't run so well. Next up is to go do a test run with the empty utility trailer (14' tandem axle) and see how it goes...

'94 Suburban K1500 for Medium Duty Towing?

Good info! I think I'll look at keeping this one running for now. If I can delay the CHA CHING of a decent (10yr old) 3/4 ton for 5 or so years life is good. My Suburban is in good shape other than the motor, even the seats are original and no rips! I upgraded the 4x4 actuator, did tires...

'94 Suburban K1500 for Medium Duty Towing?

Hey all..I have a '94 K1500 Suburban with 3:42s. It's to the point of needing a new motor, so before I go throwing cash at this I was wondering if this vehicle, with a fresh motor and maybe a regear, will fit my needs. I'd like to use it for pulling a utility trailer (12'?) or even a small...

4WD Light On in 4-LO, not in 4-HI??

Ha! That would be kinda funny and wonderful at the same time. :P Thanks for the idea. I'll have to check to see if stuff is engaging up front and check for a bulb not working too.

4WD Light On in 4-LO, not in 4-HI??

Hey all....just received a '94 Suburban K1500. I noticed that the 4WD light on the t-case shifter only illuminates in 4-LO. Is that the way it's designed? Or is something not quite right on this truck? Thanks!
