    from factory the brown wire runs directly to the battery light in the dash, so no resistor is needed. the resistor mimics the bulb in the dash. you would need a resistor if you wired the L terminal directly to switched 12v. sense wire is optional i believe. not needed but can be wired if you want.

    just be careful you do not get an alternator with this style plug you want this style plug the first plug is for PCM controlled GM alternators. there is no way to make it work on our trucks.

    in my opinion yes. i havent done that exact swap myself but ad244 is a better case design than cs130. gm still uses a similar style of ad244 to this day. i'd see what other people on this forum say though.
