    Truck does not start.

I want to ask a question... My Hoe starts, but: sometimes you need to turn the key for minutes. Means: turn the key, lights in the dash, voltage etc is ok. But no fire. Sometimes it takes 1 or 2 times, sometimes it takes minutes till the engine starts. What could this be?

    Knocking noise

I start thinking if I will build a stroker... That sounds not that bad and could be done by myself...

    Knocking noise

I stripped the block today. All main bearing look ok I would say. Piston does not look that good. Zylinder all look the same, except no 1 with the "problem"...

    Knocking noise

Haha. That's not an option for me here jn Germany. I am running on LPG because of the costs. And to get a cheap one here is not that easy

    Knocking noise

Them it makes more sense to take a complete rebuild kit. Besides that, are there any big things to know about if I take out the engine? That's my first time doing that

    Knocking noise

So I decided to pull the engine out and replace the parts. What do you suggest? All pistons new? Or just piston and rod for cylinder 1

    Knocking noise

As I mentioned, the rod bearings are replaced. So I guess that the only way to find that out is a engine removal... Since this noise comes from under the engine, I thought is could be possible that it is the flexplate... but that was only a hope ;-)

    Knocking noise

Hi all, Long story, short version... I had a part fallen into Zylinder 1. After that, a noise starts coming up. I replaced intake manifold gaskets and also head gaskets. Also new connection rod bearings. After all the noise is still there. From above the engine I can hear almost nothing. When...

    New lifter?

Since I have a 98 Tahoe I assume that these are roller lifters. I already took them out and I will inspect them later one. Sounds logic that I have to replace the cam, in case they are worn out. The car has 199.000 and I am curious too see the inside of the heads, which I will take off today...

    New lifter?

Hi all, Currently I am replacing my intake gasket and for the head on the driver side. How can I see if the lifters are worn out or ok? Is it useful to change the head gasket on the passenger side too? Cheers Dirk

    Airbag questions

Hi there, I had a little crash last friday. Airbags popped out. Question is if I have to use new airbag modules (the ones under the seat), or if I can use the old ones. We discussed it in the german forum and where not sure what to do. Is there any recommendation on that point? THX Dirk
