    Patch?or stock?

I agree it looks like a patch. If oem, it would be inset with a lip under it and screwed down. So it would not be snagging anything loaded into the bed. Possibly have a gasket to keep dirt, noise and fumes from coming up through it.

Question of body types Suburbans and Tahoes

Thanks. Yeah they have grown. Just being behind and then beside the newer Tahoe I saw gave me pause as to the real difference in them. Mine had the 5.7and 60e tranny ( coughed up and lung and had to have a rebuild.) It had a )2 sensor that would not stay reset, and when I found my 88 cheyenne I...

    Idle problem

Try spraying wd40 around your vacuum lines to see if it runs up in idle, if so where the spray was last would indicate a leak, hose off or cracked hose.also around the base of the TBI spacer, and TBI base. Eliminate some simple issues It could be inconsistent fuel flow, like filter or dirty...

Question of body types Suburbans and Tahoes

My early childhood recollections, late 50's and 60's of these vehicles were 2 door, 3 door and early 4 doors "boxes" called Suburbans. Somehow as I got older I heard of "Tahoes" and pictured them as smaller vehicles. Now I acquired a 97 Tahoe and my original picture went out the door. So when...

    Chevy Truck Legends

Darn! I have owned 5 Chevy trucks, a 55, 62, 69, 97 Tahoe and my 88 I have now. None bought new. Only new truck was an 81 f150 (don't hate me) that I drove until 1998. So I don't qualify for legend status. But missing the 73-87 grouping for a straight run on Chevys.

Hood Won’t close all the way

If you got just the cowl and install it onto yourhood the process could have changed the fit. By heating it (welding) or pressure on center with it on uneven surface.

Hood Won’t close all the way

You purchase just the cowl or a full hood? Try the original if you got a full hoof. Then you should be able to judge if the new has an issue.

    Parasitic drain

Couple of other thoughts come to mind... Other vehicles I've had the glove box lamp would drain. Also lamps on visors for the mirrors. If so equipped. Maybe clock on radio. And a silly loaded question was aux lights ever installed or strange non OEM wires here and there. A po may have added then...

    Low voltage

Mine just melted the ac pulley on my 97 6.5 Tahoe locked up. It did ruin the belt though. Have to buy a bypass pulley while searching options. Used this as part payment ony 88 Cheyenne. I would check the idlers also. As there should be enough ooohump to move that belt.

    Rear Axle Lift-SOLVED-

I am not a techie has such just shade tree as that is the way I learned. If you were going to fab hangers I would go with the 5/16m and then add gussets below the frame and and a backside bracket support on the inside. Use the spring shackle brackets and have the spring side be long enough to...

Might want to check engine mounts unless you know they have been replaced. Transount bolt loose may have affected the engine mounts. Just out of the boxing here.

What Push Bar/Bumper Bar is this?

PD seconds are ones that have been installed on the Tahoe's (at least around TEXAS) and the Tahoe are then sold at auction, with the radios and State, county or city removed
