I ordered a set of tow mirrors finally... After much thought about the overall look of the truck, I went with the plain jain GMT800 style. I wanted the lights in the side, but didn't think the smoked ones would work with all my clear lights I have now. I really thought about the new style with...

I like the chrome too, might just have to give those a shot. Thanks.

Tow mirrors are a must, I can't really see around the trailer and that's not good. You got a link to the chrome mirrors?

I'm not a fan of the Flowmaster stuff, but it may work for you. They engineered their product around sound 1st and performance 2nd. Kinda backwards to me.

The tire cost isn't really too bad. At least the 16" tires aren't that bad and a good set has a 60,000 mile warranty. I really only use this one to pull a trailer or cruise, it's not driven everyday. I think everybody should have a dually.

Bought a new 24' enclosed trailer to haul my son's Jr. Dragster and golf cart to the races. Took a 650 mile round trip last week with the trailer and snapped this picture when we stopped for lunch. Truck did great pulling the trailer. Averaged 9 mpg on the trip. The last Dodge diesel with a 5.9...

No real updates here, just been driving it and towing the race cars to the track. Mileage is still the same empty (12.5) and drops to about 10 mpg pulling my '72 chevy pickup on an open trailer. I'll get some pics of it loaded up and working, never fails someone asks if it's for sale at the gas...

Been busy with other things and forgot to document a couple of things here. The Blackbear tune has really improved the drive ability of the truck. That being said, I'm sending it back this week to get the speedometer recalibrated (there was a misunderstanding when I filled out the order sheet on...

Still really quiet. It has a little deeper tone to it now, probably because one side was just barely flowing. I'll try to get a video of it up soon.

Yes, the cats are gone. I changed the ECM on friday night and removed the cats Saturday morning. I drove it with the cats still in and the new ECM installed. I could tell a difference on Saturday after they were cut off. One of mine was pretty much plugged off and the other was hollow. The...

My factory amber cab lights didn't look right after swapping the clear parking lenses and corners in awhile back, so I splurged for a $28 set of clear cab lights with LED bulbs. These don't light up the hood and roof like the stock ones did, but they do look a little cleaner, IMO.

BlackBear got the ECM tuned and shipped back to me without a hitch. It took about 3 minutes to install, might be the fastest mod yet and one of the most noticeable for sure. Once the new ECM was plugged up and the truck running, it sounded smoother already. I haven't had any issues with misfire...

I've been dealing with an intermittent CEL and the code stored shows EGR circuit short. I've checked connections, wires and fuses with no luck. Sometimes you can drive a week and it won't come on and then it's on when you start the truck. Frustrating. This issue and the fact that I have 1 cat...

We don't have any emissions testing or vehicle inspections in Oklahoma, so I could take them off with no problem. I can try to shoot you a video, just imagine stock with some attitude. Can't hear it at all while idling or cruising normal and that's just how I wanted it.

I've been chasing a rattling sound from the rear of the truck for awhile and finally found it. The factory muffler has started coming apart and making weird noises. Took it to a local shop in Saturday morning and got a Magnaflow PN#12588 installed. Installed it backwards (dual in/single out) and...

So after the Alcoa install on the tires that came with the truck, it was apparent that I had 2 tires that wouldn't balance. I went to a couple of tire shops and they tried balancing beads, turning the tires on the wheels and moving them to different locations on the truck. Nothing worked...

The factory head light housings were trashed, the lenses were yellow'd and not worth saving. Both of my parking lights were cracked in the lower corners near the mounting holes. Sorry man.

Lug nuts, center caps and lug cover arrived and she's off to the tire shop. I thought this was a cool shot. http://s22.photobucket.com/user/ZillaRider02/media/C052465E-3F34-4A77-81D0-CF434548B370_zpswcj9lxvh.jpg.html][/URL] Here's a couple of quick pics with the new wheels, I'll get some...

The truck has a brand new set of tires mounted up on stock wheels with stainless simulators which need to go. I've always wanted a set of Alcoa aluminum wheels so the searching starts. After calling and emailing several vendors including Alcoa, I figure out that they've discontinued the 16"...

Next order of business was to replace the yellow and faded factory lights up front. I picked up a pair of OEM style headlight assembly's from RockAuto for $14 each and a set of clear park lamps for $28. I used the Sylvania bulbs that came with the headlamp assembly's and while not LED bright...

The truck showed 169K miles on the odometer and the PO had a book full of receipts that he gave to me. Story goes that the original engine lost oil pressure at 163k and he had a reman long block installed. Runs great, makes good oil pressure and is quiet. One of the most noticeable things right...

I had a few criteria for what I wanted. Had to be 2 wheel drive, I preferred the 454 and wanted Gray interior. This truck met 2 out of 3, but had some goodies already installed that I planned on doing anyway. The steel cowl hood and steel roll pan had just been installed. I would have done the...

I've always had a soft spot for these trucks and have owned several 1/2 tons over the past 15 years. The last was a '97 extended cab LT that I bought cheap and regretfully sold for a decent profit. I bought a 2007 Dodge Mega Cab new and put 100k miles on it in 10 years. The value of the Dodge...
