OEM fog lamp switch - SOLD

OEM GMT400 fog lamp switch and wire harness This specific one was removed from a 2000 Escalade that was being scrapped. These switches are a bit difficult to find since most GMT400 did not have factory fog lights. Great way to add fog lights to the GMT400 and keep an OEM+ appearance in the cab...

    Aftermarket Fog Light Valance

That is the PIAA air dam. It was manufactured for our vehicles and to mount the PIAA 90 Pro XT lamps. I know because I had this exact setup on my 1997 Tahoe: The PIAA air dam is almost impossible to find these days, and the PIAA 90 Pro XT lamps are only slightly less difficult. It's all stuff...

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

Still haven't finished this thread, got busy at work and haven't been on the forum much. Planning on finishing the write-up over the next few days though. Sorry for the delay for those who wanted to know more details.

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

Results: (thread not finished, just preview here) Close-up view of the high-end build installed. Compare to close-up view of budget build shown in post 1 of this thread. The high-end build has a bit more of a custom look to it, compared to the OEM+ appearance of the budget build. Really, I...

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

Retrofit 2, a high-end retrofit (continued): Installation: The following are the steps I took during the building of my second GMT400 retrofit. I learned from some of the mistakes and shortcomings of my first GMT400 retrofit to improve this one, but it is still not perfect. As before, please...

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

Retrofit 2, a high-end retrofit: The second retrofit I completed was a high-end build using knowledge gained from the first retrofit in order to produce the highest quality lighting possible. It was also successful and provided further lighting improvement for my vehicle. I did a better job...

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

Retrofit 1, a budget-minded retrofit (continued): Results: Even at a total cost of less than $200.00 for all parts needed for this retrofit, the lighting improvement provided by the retrofit was dramatic. The projector provides a nice even light output all the way out to the cutoff, allowing...

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

Retrofit 1, a budget-minded retrofit (continued): Installation: The following are the steps I took during the building of my first retrofit. It was a learning process and there were several aspects I would do differently given my current level of knowledge (see step 6,7 for examples). Therefore...

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

Retrofit 1, a budget-minded retrofit: The first retrofit I completed was a budget build to see if I could do it. It was successful and provided a massive lighting improvement for my vehicle. For my first retrofit I defluted a spare set of OEM headlight lenses to allow the projector output to...

    GMT400 projector retrofitting

THIS THREAD A WORK IN PROGRESS, NOT YET COMPLETE This is a build thread to document the projector retrofits I have built for my GMT400 platform Chevrolet Tahoe. There is information regarding two different retrofits in this thread: Budget build that I did as a proof-of-concept. This allowed me...

Saw this beauty in traffic a couple weeks ago. Don't often see GMT400s still in service.

What kind of mileage do you get?

I have kept track of fuel consumption as long as I have owned my Tahoe. I was surprised at the consistency in the data. With pretty much all city driving, I am showing 13 mpg.

    Painted bumpers

FYI, the smooth rear bumper that looks so nice on the Tahoe Z71 and Tahoe Limited is exactly the same as the work truck bumper. So keep an eye out for those, since they are not really seen as anything special. I bought the rear bumper for my Suburban from a work truck that was getting parted...

    Grill deterioration

Before you go replacing things I suggest simply fixing the root cause of the problem. The hazy lens is due to a thin layer of UV degradation to the plastic, and can be removed by a thorough polishing because the damage is only on the outer surface of the lens. If the damage is especially bad it...

DRL Light Not Showing on Gauge Cluster? DRL Lights Work

They are little cluster bulbs that simply twist in/out by hand. I found this page looks like it has a good illustration of anything you would need to do and what the back of the cluster looks like: 1995+ Interior Lighting

DRL Light Not Showing on Gauge Cluster? DRL Lights Work

It is likely just a burnt out bulb in the cluster, which makes sense because that bulb is almost always on when the vehicle is running. It is an easy fix, just pull the cluster out and replace with a new bulb. The bulbs are accessible from behind the cluster.
