    97 K2500 454 7.4l Electric Fans?

Fwiw - I have looked at using the oem dual electric fans from later trucks, with or without the matching alum one row radiator. The pieces from an '07 ish 1500 work truck with tow package looks to have the same core size as my '88 C3500 SRW 2wd 454 truck. Looking at the various options, it looks...

Where to tap in to wire aux equipment.

Not audio, but I figured that you guys would know. Things like brake controller [30a fuse req'd] and like items. I see several spade terminals in the convenience center [what a corny term], but the fuse box itself isn't what I'm used to on the older stuff. thanks. Dave ]

Struggle to obtain proper temp gauge sending unit, '88 C3500

On a related note, my truck has an auxiliary fan in the grill. The stock switch [in the right head] closes at 229*, opens at 219*. I mounted a trans cooler behind the fan, and I wanted it to come on sooner. I found a switch that closes at 210, and opens at 205. Standard TS136, '86 to '89...

Struggle to obtain proper temp gauge sending unit, '88 C3500

Hello All, Wells TU65 worked [sold at Autozone]. It is 1/2" NPT -most big blocks, although their TU66 [3/8" NPT -most small blocks has the same specs. You can search part numbers and find specs here; http://www.wellsve.com/parts/?s=1 I tried a Standard TS71 and a Delphi sender that were...

    new guy '88 1 ton 2wd

Hi Gents, Sorry for the delay, I didn't see the replies in new posts? Plans? It seems sound for 160K, but it is really a slug. For now, heated 02 sensor, dual exh, maybe the newer s/s manifolds, maybe headers. Later? Freshen engine, L-29 heads, mild cam. Maybe carb. Maybe 4L80E, or try...

    '88 C3500 454/TH400 2wd single wheel- Dana 60 or 70?

Fwiw, Randy's lists the 70HD for '74-'98 chev and gmc; http://www.ringpinion.com/b2c/DiffList.aspx?SearchMode=Make&MakeID=3&ModelID=561&Side=Rear&DriveType=RWD He also lists the 70U and 80 for some GMCs only. ----- And here are some application listings for Detroit lockers that indicate that...

    '88 C3500 454/TH400 2wd single wheel- Dana 60 or 70?

Hello All, I've looked around a good bit, and found the rear listed as both. I could pull the cover and measure the ring gear, but I thought that someone here might know. The hsg does not have "60" on the bottom corner web where most 60s do. The top flange surface where the cover seats looks...

    '88 1 ton TH400 to 4L80E swap.

Howdy, I'll show how dumb I am on late model stuff. I just bought the '88, which is all stock. I ASsumed that since it's TH400 has an electronic speedo output, I could make the speedo function from the 4L80E. I will search the subjects of input sensor and DRAC module to see if I can learn...

    '88 1 ton TH400 to 4L80E swap.

Hello All, New here. My '88 3500 has an elec speedo. Anyone know if the 4L80 E will signal my speedo correctly? How are gear ratio changed dealt with with the e speedo? Thanks. Dave
