    97 Chevy Steering wheel upgrades?

I have no idea about 3500s Funny thing is, I'm actually using the buttons for a 2-Step controller and possibly later a transbrake and paddle shifting when I upgrade to a 4l80e So I've never even gotten around to checking them for radio purposes lol But to answer your question, yes the buttons work.

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

I have a thread on here about the wheel swap. The bag can be easily functional, I just don't care for it to be myself personally. Lots of info here:http://www.gmt400.com/threads/97-chevy-steering-wheel-upgrades.32077/

    Suggestions for a drop kit.

I haven't done the rear yet with the kit I bought. Looking at what is on there now by the previous owner it looks like they just replaced the shackles for what I assume is approx 4" drop. It doesnt have a flip kit or anything and all the springs seem there. I like the rear height so I might just...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

So far so good on this. I've been tuning tuning tuning and currently am running the boost at about 8lbs. I put a set of Nitto 555s on the back to help it hook up. Also bought a Spartan Diff locker for the rear end, have yet to install it. I just finished up replacing the entire front suspension...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

It's alive Now I am in the process of running a down pipe, and finishing up the harness. Theres a slight miss in the video, its better now and the idle and off idle transient are tuned. Its snappy and gets into boost FAST. I installed the drive shaft last night and the trans has reverse and...

Another shot of the engine with turbo in place... Also you can see the Lextech ac/alternator relocation kit I used. I live in Texas, I need that AC on my 500+ hp hotrod... The crossover pipe connects like this, will be connected in the center where the two 90's meet. I am one mandrel 90...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

I am about ready to fire this thing up! Actually I would have done so Sunday but I am missing 1 starter bolt. So I have to have patience! Wiring harness, it looks much more intimidating than it is, I already had a 0411 swap done on the truck so it was just a matter of taking out what I dont...

Oh, and anyone attempting to rebuild a 4l60e you really don't need any special tools, you can work around with standard stuff or build your own but what I WOULD recommend buying is a good set of snap rings pliers and by good set I mean the SnapOn set that most Trans builders are using. The snap...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

Thank You Sir, it's a lot of work but it'll be worth it in the end. I keep getting held up by the small stuff. I ordered a deeper trans pan and a drain plug kit for it and the drain plug kit that came is complete junk, B&M universal type, I'd work but I just don't trust it. I have a new welder...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

5 gear planetary and Beast sun shell Input drum back in and wide band installed. There was A LOT more to it.... but I stayed focused on actually doing the work than taking pics.. I ordered a new deep pan which should be here this week and then the motor and trans can finally be put in. I...

The transmission rebuild is done! All in all it was not that difficult to do and I feel very good that all will work well. It took a little longer than I anticipated because there were a few parts that I had to order last minute. There's lots of info on the web on how to rebuild these things and...

    A fuel pump every month

The relays are bad about the pin sockets loosening up causing a loose connection which causes the relay to get very hot and will make it intermittently shut off, killing power to the pump. It'll fire back up when it cools which adds to the confusion. I chased my tail on this for several weeks on...

    0411 swap AC sensors

I dismantled it all last night and there was no pressure on anything and a lot of oily residue on one of the lines going into the drier. Thanks for the help guys.

    0411 swap AC sensors

Ok, that helps me quite a bit.. My truck is a 97, it had a V6 in it which I just pulled.. I am swapping a LS in it now, but the AC went out before all of that... It had to be low on freon, when I swapped to the 0411 I also swapped the intake manifold at the same time when I disassembled it I let...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

Thanks, but I don't know about hero lol... If this transmission works when I am done with it, I will have impressed myself! :) I have read lots of mixed reviews about building a 4l60e that can handle horsepower.. Some say don't bother, others say it can be done.. I have bought what I need for a...

    0411 swap AC sensors

Has anyone done the 0411 swap and was able to keep the sensors stock? In my HP Tuners settings it has options for recirculation fitted, AC recirc or Fan# 2 and type fitted lists: serial, serial cycling, analog, analog cycling, passive and not fitted. After I did my swap my ac stopped working...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

The head gaskets finally came in, I opened up my box of ARP head bolts and they're the wrong ones. So a tip for anyone wanting to mess with LS motors they have 2 different sets of head bolts, 03 and older uses longer bolts that are 3 different lengths, 04 up uses shorter bolts and has 2...

My LS swap in 2 dr 2 wd tahoe

Your PCM should have options for your fuel system capacity, sending unit ect.. whenever I first started using HP tuners I didn't have all the options showing either, it was because when you first launch the VCM editor it ask you if you want a basic or advanced mode, if you choose basic it leaves...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

I went ahead and lapped the valves while I had the heads apart. Gave everything a good cleaning and started reassembly. I made this caul out of a 1" brass nipple flange so that I could use my drill press to compress these stiff double coil valve springs. It worked out really well!

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

I got the lower end all cleaned up, I was told the motor is low mileage and with what very little wear it seems to have coincides with that. The oil residue all looked good so apparently someone kept it in good shape. So that is good news for me so I went ahead and installed a few parts. The...

1997 LS Swap, Turbo and all the goodies..

Over the weekend I got the motor cleaned up and tore down. Heads off, inspected the bottom end all looks ok nothing loose rotates fine no real cylinder wear to speak of. The Cylinder heads each have one bolt exhaust manifold bolt broken off in them. I was able to weld a 3/8" nut to them, soak...
