    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

So I just shipped back the magnaflow cat system and went to the muffler shop for an estimate. $750 from LT headers into the dual in muffler. Stainless 2.5 inch pipe with two high flow cats.

Yeah, that Magnaflow 2” kit sitting in my garage is looking more attractive right now

Well just checked header back kits. All are 2.25 inches...

    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

So you get a 2.75 inch pipe but it is choked at the manifold. Makes no sense!!! I wonder if I get those pacesetter LTs if I should get that 1 ton cat system anyway or just build my own with a header back kit and two high flows cats

    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

So that leads to another question, what diameter is the 5.7 K1500 exhaust manifold? Are they also bigger on the K3500s and Express vans?

    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

Ok, just realised I need to be looking at K3500 trucks. Just need to check the front (Walker 50454) and back (Walker 50316) parts will fit under my stubby 2 door Yukon.... if they do I'm good, but the cost is getting closer to a custom exhaust. Supercharged111, I will check the U-pulls if they...

    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

Any chance you have a part number for those? I looked at Rockauto and there a re a bunch by Walker and another made by Borsal, but no pipe sizes are listed. should I assume they are all 2.5?

    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

Nobody posts what size their pipes are, I have been looking through rockauto at K2500 cat kits and its all a guess... Maybe the jegs off road can be used, and then weld in some highflow cats?

Change exhaust from dual cats to single?

This is exactly what I am thinking of doing. How did it work out?

    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

Thanks for all your replies! So yeah it is heading back. I do want to keep cats and all my 4 sensors. I already have a big magnaflow muffler with 2.5 dual in and 3 inch out. I’d like to keep that. I was also trying to avoid a custom exhaust due to the high cost. Suggestions are welcome! Thanks

    2 inch exhaust with 300+ hp 5.7

Hi Everyone, posting this question here as well as the tahoeyukon forum. Is anyone running 300+ hp through 2 inch down pipes? I have a 97 Yukon with the MPFI upgrade and just recently the 0411 pcm with the Vortec express van tune. what a difference that made! increased mpg by 3 and the engine...

What cam for single cab 2WDshortbed with new L31R

Question on the Ls6 springs, is the seat pressure ok for the 151 cam?

Which GM cam to perfect the L31?

Hi All, I have a chance to get a deal in the 151 cam, but was planning on a 395. The dyno chart I see on the 151 doesn't show off idle performance. Is it similar or better than 395 for torque? This is an occasional boat tow and fun driver. Mpg is important. I have the delphi spider bigger...

What cam for single cab 2WDshortbed with new L31R

Following this thread as I am planning a cam swap as well. It seems risky keeping stock springs with that .474 lift. I would definitely put the LS6 behives in there. Seems like a great cam choice though!

    Rebuild or Replace 4l60??

I agree with your choice to rebuild. The amount of work, money, and added weight of a 4L80e needs to really be worth it.

I have the KO2s on mine and they are really great. Very quiet on the highway and excellent in snow.

Heater Hose Quick Disconnect to Barbed Fitting and Hose Clamp Swap/Fix

If you do break connector, like most, buy an extra hose fitting and make a tap out of it with a grinder. Cut 3 in slots in the broken fitting with a hacksaw blade. Then chip away at it with a pointed punch. Once you get most of it out, run the home made tap in and out gradually cleaning it...

Bought a 97 two door Yukon and love it!

Here it is when I first got it. I bought some 285 BFG KO2s and plasti dipped the wheels. Now it looks like this. The engine bay smelled like coolant. I researched that and found out about the manifold gasket problem. I'm currently finishing that job as well as the MPFI upgrade. Will...
