    Exhaust options for 6.0L swap

Ya I've seen it done lots and 2 of my good friends are welders so they've given me some good info. Just gotta get some scrap to practice on and get it dialed in before I work on the truck.

    Exhaust options for 6.0L swap

Ya fair enough. I'll see if the wrecker will sell me the Y pipe with cats cut out, will save some work connecting to the manifold. And then just do 2" to some 3" cats and then into the Y I already have. Thanks guys, this is gonna save me a bunch of work going this way, especially since I need...

    Exhaust options for 6.0L swap

Outlaw, any reason U's and not 90s? I haven't done any measurements yet but I figured it was just a combination of 90s to get the driver side over. Dropped88, thanks for the confirmation. Frank, this is just a regular Y right? I already have a Y (horizontal) after the cats, so I'll try to just...

    Exhaust options for 6.0L swap

Ok cool thanks for the input. Most of the online calculators were saying dual 3" would be good and a single 3" might leave something on the table so I didn't want to be cutting myself short. This might actually work in my favour as far work goes, my stock 98 setup has a, self made cat back...

    Exhaust options for 6.0L swap

Hey guys, I'm going to be putting a 6.0L in my my 98 K1500 this summer and I'm trying to sort out the exhaust. I'll be using stock manifolds, the guy building the engine said they flow great and I'm planning on a turbo in the future so dont want to waste money on headers. My problem is what to...

Shocks and front end parts advice

Thanks man, from what I understand Mevotech is engineered in Canada but manufactured elsewhere, couldn't find a definitive answer on that. They just seemed like a good quality product. I was definitely intending on getting an alignment after changing all this stuff, you're saying I need to...

Shocks and front end parts advice

And those KYB are supposed to last as well? I do plan on keeping the truck a long time, that's why I'm replacing all this stuff. I've heard that ACDelco isn't worth the inflated price, and that Moog is mediocre quality now too just coasting on reputation. Mevotech has different levels of...

Ah ok, I think my bearings are fine. Ya both of my outer CV boots are torn.

Shocks and front end parts advice

If you don't think Bilstein is worth the price then do you have a good suggestion of a quality shock to buy instead? Im just not sure what to get. And like I asked before, I should just replace my CV boots then? And why would I want to replace my hub? What should I look for to indicate they...

Shocks and front end parts advice

Thanks for the info man, I'm aware of the lower BJ and how to deal with them lol. Why do you wish you kept OEM axles? I think mine are original and it's just a torn boot as of now, so could get away with just changing the boot. Why did you replace the hub? And what does the outer axle shaft...

Shocks and front end parts advice

Hey guys, I'm looking for some input on what shocks to buy and any advice on replacing parts in my front end. quick background on my truck is its a 98 Chevy K1500 ecsb Z71, has 355km and I live in northern Alberta, so we see winters as cold as -40C. There is also a good chance I'll be moving to...

Driving Lights vs Headlights - Difference?

Dude that's not very safe, your tail lights aren't on with the DRLs, if it's dark enough (or poor visibility due to snow/rain/fog) that you want DRLs on then you should be turning your full headlights on so people behind you can see you. Even on lighted roads. I mean, what's the loss of being...

    Tail Light Screws

Ya that's the problem I'm having, I've found places that sell security type screws, I just don't know what ones to order.

    Tail Light Screws

Small town, from what I could tell I think my truck was targeted not just someone who drove by, so good chance they will see my new lights again. And ya, a lot of nice new trucks up year (so I was surprised when my truck was hit actually) but combine that with oil being in the ******* for 2...

    Tail Light Screws

Hey guys, recently I had my new tail lights stolen while my truck was parked in my driveway. Before I install the new new ones I'd to get some tamper proof security screws. I know Jimmi Jammer sells some, but they're a little pricey to get to Canada. Has anyone in Canada found another source for...

Aftermarket stereo is draining the battery

So no real progress on sorting this out, but I did find something odd that I thought you guys might find interesting and could possibly help me sort this out. When I pull the fuse (and I confirm the deck has no power by starting the truck and trying to turn it on) the deck retains it's memory...

Quading is not near the same as Ski-dooing, a ski-doo is closer to a crotch rocket on the snow, so much fun and such an adrenaline rush haha. Either way i think this thread has digressed enough lol, to each their own.
