    Looks to me like the switch button itself should have a metal contact for those two to complete the circuit from pin B to D. Those spring tabs should not contact the circuit board or anything attached to it. I might have a spare switch in my inventory I can check out later.

    You can get just lock cylinders and an ignition cylinder with matching keys. I got mine either on eBay or Amazon. The lock cylinders are separate from the door handles, so you can replace each individually. I don't remember but off the top of my head I think it was around $50 for a two-door lock...

    Don't unplug the module, that same module also controls your variable power steering. If VATS is turned off in the PCM, the PCM won't care what that module says anymore.

    If it's working, doing so should get you a resistance value of the sending unit. But doesn't rule out one or the other being bad in case of an open circuit.
