    4 Hi Headlight Mod

My '95 Caprice LT1 aka RPO B4U, has DTRLs and I cant recall ever seeing any post-'95 GM vehicle I've owned or driven without DTRLs... and I e owned quite a few.

    4 Hi Headlight Mod

Sadly, I dont think they were actually mandated in the US.... BUT all the manufacturers jumped onto this safety bandwagon because they likely figured it was coming, seeing there was a Safety-nut orgy going on in the 90's... In Socialist Mutha Republic of Massachusetts, we have yearly safety and...

    4 Hi Headlight Mod

Thanks df2x4! Appreciate the info. Glad to see you're still on the forum, hope life's treating you good! Also, I finally bought a set of the glass Spyders for the "New-to-me GMC".... Seems they improved them a little. I'll have to post about them in the ole thread.

    4 Hi Headlight Mod

As I said, I live in Mass, its required if your vehicle came originally equipped. Has ZERO to do with Feds, nor did I remotely say such.

    4 Hi Headlight Mod

Digging up this thread from the grave... Has anyone figured out how to make the 4-Hi headlight upgrade work with DTRL? I cannot disable DTRL because of safety inspection requirements here in Mass. Some station might pass me, but I'm not driving to dozens of stations just to figure out who...

Spyder headlamps.....my take on 'em...and LIGHTING in general

My suspicion/hope is maybe leftovers from the original design vs a new revision headlight? The mounting system on the initial design was crap so perhaps they revised it? Or maybe it's purely the cheapo light bulb.

Well, damn, that's some crappy news. I was planning to use him to make a harness... guess I'll need to fabricobble something out of the stuff they sell at LMC.

Fixed my post. My bad, thought they had carried on into 1990... alas, a fading memory is the bain of human existence. E-Codes in the Quads? I imagine they gotta be almost unobtainium, kinda like those Brazillian and Aussie GMT400 headlights.

That guy is amazing. I do recall the W/T conversions and was afraid the older quads might provide less light, as they have less lens to project through. Additionally, I do intend to upgrade to the Ultra High Beam (w/Hi-Low) and do the direct battery current upgrade. I did them to my '92 Z71...

Spyder headlamps.....my take on 'em...and LIGHTING in general

Hey Z71 Hobbs, I actually have access to a few of these set ups, so getting then isn't hard, but how much brighter are they vs the composite setup, vs the large sealed W/T style? I can't recall if we discussed those in this thread. I'm leaning on buying the Spyder glass lens replacement for the...

+1, that is a huge feature bonus of these tail lights.

I'm partial to the Anzo Clear 211140 with LED bulbs. I did that to my '92 Z71 and they are VERY BRIGHT, and when I shift to "Reverse", they light up everything pretty decently behind me. They have held up very well over time, with no moisture or fading. They've certainly held up better than my...

HEY BILL!!! Glad you are doing very well mah man! Congrats on the shoulder rebuild... hopefully a lot less pain for you now. I'm in the process of finally starting my '92 Z71. Still back n forth on the engine, hate to say it but I'm leaning towards a 5.3 now, but we shall see. I still like the...

    NP 241 Housing bushings

...indeed it is, bottledZ28 ;) and those bushings are one of the many little "somethings" I've been trying to hunt down. My parts book is missing some pages in that section. Thank You Mihela! Just bought 2 off ebay for $23 each, shipped.

Stamped vs Forged Lower Control Arm Swap

If its any K-series (4x4) GMT400, the forged lowers will swap readily, be aware they use press-in ball joints.

@ Bret Johnson If you live in the rust belt and drive your truck regularly, you may want to swap to a set of Spyder's Glass lens headlights, not the astic ones. Mine are turning yellow and the reflector lens is start after a handful of years.

Those saddles are out in the GM stealership NOS parts pipelines, but one side is getting very hard to find. Cant remember if it was left or right, but either way, absolute must haves.

Thank You for the comments guys. People simply need to look at the bigger picture when they fundamentally change safety equipment, especially headlights. Bill, I didnt see your post, but I feel pretty fkn confident that you were not trolling the thread... in fact, Im kinda amused of the idea...
