    CEL triggers only while cruising

So I have been fighting the same issue for a while also and I know that it is related to the O2 sensor and I also did not know about checking D6 ground. My question is where does D6 ground at. Is it on the intake manifold or is it inside the cab near the ECM?

    dash bulb size 88 c1500

Blacksport, If I recall your gauge cluster and the moonie gauge cluster are different. And the OP has the gauge cluster with idiot lights instead of gauges. Both the moonie and the cluster with all of the idiot lights do not have the twist out lights from behind.

    dash bulb size 88 c1500

Are you referring to your gauge cluster? On my 1988 cluster I just needed the bulbs, no twist socket. I replaced my bulbs with LED bulbs. If you want to replace the bulbs in the AC/vent control the you will need the twist socket bulbs. I went with the NEO4 LED bulb twist socket. Hope this helps

TPS voltage, adjustment, and other things.

Mine on my 88 is non-adjustable... One of the Mods for my 97 Dodge Dakota TPS was to make the TPS adjustable by elongating the holes with a drill. I have a spare TPS and my give that a try...

    step side roll pan

There should not be any overlap... If the rollpan was made properly, it should just fit in just like the picture... How about posting a PIC of your rollpan up against your truck so we can better see what your issue is.

    step side roll pan

Have you removed your bumper yet? Look closely at the PIC.. I think what you are calling extensions fit right to the curve of the bed.

    step side roll pan

Not sure what you are calling ends... Please note that if you bought your rollpan off of eBay, a lot of them have the rollpan upside down in their pictures.

    step side roll pan

Remove the bumper and the rollpan should fit right in place with maybe a little trimming. My steel rollpan needed some trimming to make it fit as the company who made it did not do a good job. I have it just screwed in place for now. Eventually want to use some SMC and bond it to the bed.

This question keeps coming up .. does anyone know?

I had the same issue with my 1988 c1500. I pulled all of the interior trim from a 1988 Silverado in order to use the fabric headliner. When I pulled the silverado headliner I made sure that I got the velcro pieces for the front. I pulled the old material off, cleaned the and recovered the...

1991 5.7 TBI runs rough when cold

I am not sure what you call rough when cold but I have been fighting somewhat of the same issue for 6 months now and the colder it has gotten, the worse it has gotten. That is until yesterday... I will explain. At startup my truck would idle for about 30 seconds and then you could smell the...

    plastic repair

Make some abs glue... Take some old abs part, break it up in small pieces and put it in a jar. Add some acetone and seal the jar. The abs will resolve in the acetone and you will be left with abs glue. I have done this many times in repairing interior parts of my 1988 c1500. Hope this helps

193 TBI to TPI head swap

Not sure about just installing the l98 heads but I have a complete l98 motor out of a 92 z28 and converted it to TBI and installed it in my 88 c1500 this past spring. I am still struggling a bit with getting everything to run perfect. I went with mid length headers and had to use a 3-wire O2...

    89 Cheyenne gauges upgrade

How much do you want for the cluster? I have an 88 c1500 with a moonie cluster and was looking to pick up another one to try to do the DRAC upgrade with a 7 pin dip switch.

    Switching guage cluster

Well lets see. You are mission the back plate of new cluster. Your 89 cluster uses an internal DRAC and the new cluster uses and External DRAC. The new cluster uses a different connector.

    Base Timing Question

I purchased a L98 TPI motor and 700r4 trans out of a 92 Z28 about a year ago and decided to do my first V6/V8 swap. I decided not to run it as TPI for now so I converted it to TBI. Got everything out and everything in without issues. I did my initial base timing at 6 degrees because that is...
