    5.7L Cold Air Intakes?

I'd say more like last on the list, and even then only if you've done other significant performance mods to require more air. FYI, Volant is the only manufacturer who makes a sealed intake system for these trucks. If you absolutely have to have an aftermarket intake, I'd get one of those. The...

The latest edition. 95 K2500 RCLB

That brings back memories. My dad's '90 and '93 trucks had that same style phone mounted in the exact same spot. His ringer was set up to honk the truck's horn if the ignition was off so he'd hear it even if he was out on a job site. EDIT - Funny and related story... The phone rang while he...

The Plow Truck: 99 454 CCSB

They do. https://volant.com/collections/1997-chevrolet-k2500-7-4l-v8/products/closed-box-air-intake-15974 Wish they made one for the 4.3, pretty sure that's the only engine in these trucks they don't make a kit for.

    Suburban roof rack

Interesting... I didn't even know you could get a 400 'burb with no rack from the factory.

    95 k2500 to 6.0l swap

From what I understand, the only difference is that the LS engines have an extra bolt hole at the top of the bellhousing. The rest of the pattern is the same as a traditional SBC, you can just leave that top bolt out.

    Suburban roof rack

Very doubtful that it came from the factory without a rack. I'm pretty sure the police package Tahoes were the only GMT400 SUVs that had the option for a factory roof rack delete. More likely that a previous owner has removed the rack and covered the holes in the roof in some manner...

    Help

It might be cheaper to just buy a physical copy of the manuals if you want one, printing one of these would take a metric ton of printer ink and paper. Many of the GM factory service manuals are over 3000 pages.

What to look for 1998 suburban

HPTuners will do it for sure, the '98+ PCMs are supported. EFILive and JET DST are two other options.

    1999 C1500 GMC Suburban 5.7 fuel issue

If you pay the PCM core charge ($125) from Black Bear, they'll send you the tuned PCM and you can keep your stock one. That's what I did, but eventually had them reflash the stock PCM to another tune after my transmission swap. Kind of wish I'd kept the stock one unmodified... EDIT - Added...

    Blackbear has made some changes

I just found this on their website on the FAQs page: "Is there a charge for tune updates?" "The tune update service is free of charge for the first year after the tune purchase, other than any shipping fees and PCM deposits. After the first year, there will be a minimum fee of $40. That fee...

    1999 C1500 GMC Suburban 5.7 fuel issue

If you're sending the PCM out to be programmed, I've been very happy with the Black Bear Performance standard mail order performance tune on my red '97. Made a big difference in power and how the truck felt in general. You can have them tune the PCM for higher octane fuel if you want a little...

    How low would you go.

Personally I would try option B. IIRC, going down 4" in the rear is really close to needing a frame notch. You could put spindles on the front for a 2/2 and retain the factory suspension geometry and rake. If you really want the rear lower too, then yeah I'd say go ahead and 4/6 it and do the...

Friend of mine is selling this truck

Tail lights are 3157 in the top two bulbs, 3057 in the bottom (reverse light). Front parking lamps should be 1157A for a '93, front corner markers are 194. For future reference, the Sylvania automotive replacement guide has pretty good bulb info for most vehicles. Here's a link...

    Open Element question

True, but... I think Pinger may be onto something. That port may not be as restrictive as it looks if the truck is moving. Easy fix for the grille/lights though, just remove the high beam bucket on your passenger side quad beam assembly.

It's possible, but I'd kind of hate to mess with hatzie's original post. That's all his content and it's obvious that he worked pretty hard to organize it. If he gave us permission to edit/add to the post then I'd be for it.

That is interesting. I never put much thought into how the air in the fender got there. I just pulled up some parts diagrams and it looks like that duct you drew the arrow to was used in both the TBI and Vortec trucks. From what I can tell it's just a short little piece that directs air into...
