    For that price is the trans included? 700r4 will be on borrowed time if you horse on it. Stock th400 or 4l80 will live easily. I would go 4l80 with a 6.0 since the computer will control it

    An early tbi454 and th400 isn't bad either depending on your gear ratio. Even a carbed 454/th400 out of a square body would be ok if you wanted to stay with a carb

    I've seen squares with electronic speedometer but that one wasn't. Th400 didn't need a speed sensor. Wish I hadn't of pulled that one apart but I paid 350 for it and got 2k out of the parts and still have 4 doors all the glass front clip ac interior etc left over.

    If I was converting to tbi I would look for a 2wd 2500 truck or a 2500/3500 van with a 5.7/4l80 combo and pull what I needed plus the 4l80 and end up with the faster computer and the overdrive version of the th400.
