I cannot find this valve cover hose anywhere!

Uff.. So close! Too bad they don't seem to have one for TBI's.. or do they? Richard

I cannot find this valve cover hose anywhere!

That's the passenger side, for connecting to the PCV. And it's worthless. The elbow melts. :( Personal experience, after not quite believing other people's reports of how bad it was. It's the driver side that is just the curved plastic tube that is needed. Richard

I cannot find this valve cover hose anywhere!

I don't know if this tube is offered anymore. I'd sure like to know if someone can confirm one way or the other. The angled one that connects from the valve cover to the spacer ring under the air cleaner, for the filtered air intake to the crankcase for the PCV system. The Dorman PCV tube...

    Oh no.....

Even happened to an off-duty cop, shot and killed over his catalytic converter. https://abc13.com/deputy-shot-and-killed-darren-almendarez-shooting-joe-vs-smart-shop-catalytic-converter-theft/11699863/ There's so much money in stolen converters that a lot of the guys taking them aren't just...

    Wheel spacers

Yep, the stock wheels (and most, but not all aftermarket) on the lighter duty stuff is all lug centric. And it should tighten up correctly with just the conical seat lug nuts. However, adapters are outside of the box in terms of the original design, so while hubcentric shouldn't be necessary...

TBI 350 lifter noise / Roller cam swap

Good stuff - looks like it's cheaper than you could buy the single pigtails for. In the few instances where I've had to swap, I just did solder and heat shrink. Richard

TBI 350 lifter noise / Roller cam swap

The TPS connection changed in 1991. Earlier TBI's have a flat row of 3 large pins that are similar to a trailer 4 pin connection. From 1991-1995 it's a smaller round connector. There's other changes as well but that's the most obvious one. Old style new style Richard

    4/6 drop bumpstop clearance help

Wow.. they must have used a 4x4 rear to go 6 lug. Bleah. OK, don't blame you for not caring about that rear in the truck; useless for your application. I say get rid of the overly tall bump stops first, and see how it goes. If you get very slight contact here and there, you might consider...

Getting 99 Dually to the ground….

Nope, I've got that exact same set on my '93. Just was hoping you didn't chuck 'em. I'm a little far away anyhow in TX. That's a fairly uncommon wheel these days.. It's crazy looks like you have those same big ol' mother trucker style McGard lug nuts, too. Not available anymore. Richard

    4/6 drop bumpstop clearance help

Ditch those tall bump stops. I don't know why they include those with some flip kits. The Belltech flip kit for my C3500 came with those, too, and it was just not enough clearance. I installed Energy Suspension # 9.9132G bump stops which are polyurethane and only 3/8" tall. Lots more...

    94 C1500 5.7L Service Engine Light

Price has crept up recently. I got that same # from Rock on 1/28/2025 for $68.79, I see it's $72.79 now. :( Richard

    Oh no.....

I think the "pro" tailgate thieves are looking for late model stuff with the backup cameras, as those tailgates are netting $1K+. These same types are also taking the modern taillights that have the sensors and crap built into them for the crash avoidance systems. Big money. These type of...

    94 C1500 5.7L Service Engine Light

For a TBI 5.7 on a vehicle under 8600lb GVWR - if you ordered GM 214-5073 / 19210654 you should be in good shape. It's currently the only one I am aware of that is proven to be correct. Delphi EG10099 *used to be* but is no longer. Richard

Correct, the input from the range switch on the side of the transmission shouldn't let you start it in anything other than park and neutral. That BTSI I mentioned lives in the dash alongside where the shift cable attaches on the column. Black plastic rod with a 2 pin connection on it. That's...

    1997 C1500-Father/Daughter Project

Sorry to hear the crank sensor didn't solve the issue. Like I said earlier, you may not have found THE problem, but it was definitely A problem! That leaky, damaged crank sensor was on borrowed time. So, it's one less point of potential failure going down the road. Did I overlook at any...

Passenger Side Mirror Glass Fell Off Today

Depends on how picky your local fuzz are! Probably no issue. BTW you can get that tape down at the big orange box store or Wally world, too, instead of waiting for it to ship. I see while I was typing that Gotoguy mentioned the same thing. I wouldn't lube anything inside there. These...

Help with identifying - 1988 GMC 1500 REG CAB 2WD

Yep - S for St. Louis, MO - for squarebody 1987. No GMT400's were made in that plant, AFAIK. backing up what 89RCLB said about it not being an included plant code in the 1988-1991 info. I don't see it coming up anywhere in the multiple/varied year GMT400 sources I've checked. Richard

Do you know for a fact what year model truck the transmission came out of - and I mean, for a fact, by the 10th digit of the VIN tag on the dash (not the door, or the glovebox sticker.) I ask because there are changes throughout the years of these transmissions. The ability to shift without...

93 Silverado 5.7 TBI ECU Issues

So.. on to that cam then. Brand, part #? A more aggressive than stock cam that the PCM isn't tuned for can result in low vacuum. Do you have a vacuum gauge so you can check what the actual vacuum reading is, to determine if it's low at the time the CEL triggers? When the MAP sensor detects...

    1994 1500 2WD Need a 2” drop

I believe you'll find the wheels currently on the truck are 7" - 275/60's will work on them but they'll have a bit of sidewall bulge, can vary depending on brand/model of tire. This is what 275/60's looked like on my buddy's truck with 7" alloy wheels: The squarebody Rally's generally come...

    94 C1500 5.7L Service Engine Light

Absolutely fair enough! At first I read it like you'd replaced all that stuff chasing the CEL. I fully understand the amount of things that need to get replaced after a truck sits for so long. Hell, it doesn't even take that long for things to go funky. I'm surprised at a 12 year stint of...

    1994 1500 2WD Need a 2” drop

The white truck you posted looks stock, too, just with shorter, wider tires (they look like 275/60's on 8" squarebody Rallys) - the rear MIGHT be lowered a tiny bit with 2" shackles. Here's a stock height C1500 ext cab on stock size tires - 235/75/15. It's debatable what the best way to get...
