'97 only.
Medium Bright Blue Metallic. Bright Blue Medium Metallic.
Something like that.
RPO codes in the glovebox are unreadable.

I almost bought a 97 K2500 in this color, it had a 454/80E and only 88,000 miles. I love my 96 now, but I'd give my left nut to find that blue 97 again.

Filling up the other day & there was a guy getting some propane with his 6 or 7 year old daughter. I see him looking at the truck & pointing out some stuff to her that I've done to it.
Go in & pay, come out & he's walked across the parking lot, standing beside the truck & the first thing he says is..."97?"
Kinda caught me off-guard! Not many people know that!
"Yup."
"I miss mine." he says.
And walked away!

Funny thing is, most of the colors that I wouldn't have picked are the ones I'd now want. Hard to tell what looks the best by just those color chips you had to go off of at the dealer but when that same shade is wrapped around all the sheetmetal and accented by trim, wheels and chrome- it's a completely different story. Why I love the two tone blues, or red & whites or even the browns now. Ten years ago though, I'd have wanted everything to be blue or black.

I owned a black vehicle back in the `80`s.
Said I`d never own another. I like the color, as long as someone else owns it!
When I went looking for a 400, I looked at 11 of them. 8 were black!
2 were red. Nope. Not for me. 1 was green. The vehicle I had before was a square body. Green. If you`ve ever been in one of those...that`s a LOT of green! So again...no.
When the guy I bought my blue truck from rolled the car-cover back, I lost my breath for a second! Wow! I had never seen a 400 in that color before.
Didn`t find out it was a one-year only until after I bought it, thanks to the crew on here!
The black one I had w-a-y back when. It was hard on the OCD `clean`thing!

Reason I hunted so hard for my 2013, one year only color. When I was looking for mine I did a search nationwide with that color, the 6.2 engine, crew cab, and 4wd and the results showed 1. That's not to say it's the only one, just the only one that happened to be for sale at the time.

When I was 11 my step dad bought a 97 Z71 off of his buddy. It was bone stock,160k on it and zero rust. It was that same color blue but had the silver trim on the bottom. He kept it for a few years then sold it to a family friend who kept her in a heated garage and washed it every time it seen any dirt, dust, rain or snow. When i turned 16 i sold my 95 k2500 with a 6.5 so i could buy my step dads old truck. I kept it for a year or so,tinted the windows, cut up the door panels for bigger speakers, trimmed the valance to fit 33s on it and still be able to turn(kinda lol) then i sold it to buy a 92 dodge with a cummins that i didnt even buy...i kick myself in the teeth almost daily for modding the truck how i did and for selling it,it was the only one I've ever seen around here that was med metallic blue with the silver on the bottom, and it was so nice before i got ahold of it..oh well,we were all kids once lol

What color would this blue be called? It was the original color on my stepside until the dipshit P.O rattle canned the entire truck flat black after he replaced a rear fender. I would love to get it back to this color,or maybe that teal so it'll match my sage green metallic honda lol
