These are the newest version of the Kicker KS series 4x10s that I usually recommend to people looking for good replacements for that location.

The Kicker KS series speakers are amazing! They don't have that great of bass (I don't care about that), but it is a huge improvement over stock. When installing my Kicker KS speakers, I had to drill new holes for them in the roof mounted ones and the front doors. The rear doors fit like a glove in the stock mounting location.

Do you remember which colors were the power and ground for the 4x10s? I can't seem to find the answer online and I haven't got in there yet.

It's been a while since I've installed them, but it was pretty straightforward with black being ground and the other color being power. I took a picture of the wiring from afar, although I doubt it will be much help I'll post it anyways.

Also, Metra makes adapters for the door speakers (the roof mounted ones are a different plug) to retain your wire harness. It is the Metra 72-4568 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002BEUZ8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_v0ZIzbESE0V81

Couldn't find this anywhere so hopefully someone knows and can help me out. Have a wiring harness going into the cab on my 94 c1500 5.7 passenger side just under the overflow tank and next to some of the heater hoses. I unscrewed the connection from the firewall but can't tell if it's supposed to disconnect or not.

Nope, that one does not disconnect. If you're careful you can lift the tabs and separate those two halves, but you will find the wires all encased in a block of resin. The two halves of that pass-through unit are the molds/retainer for it.
