what i need to know is, if i take it off, do i need to replace gaskets?? I'm not looking to get into it or rebuild. just clean up. truck has 190k and i have only had it for a month or so.

I would most definitely replace the gaskets, especially if you are taking it off completely. A rebuilt kit for a throttle body is like 25 bucks and there are a few videos online how to tear it all apart and rebuild it. I did mine this summer and from start to finish it took me about an hour.. The original gaskets had 185k and were brittle and falling apart. The truck runs so much better now, so I would just do it all and not have to do it twice.

thanks for reply. i really just want to clean it up and see if it helps truck start smother with turn of the key and maybe picks idle up a bit. not broke.. don't want to make a problem..not broke don't fix kind of thing. guess i look for vid on the complete rebuild. and also look for the rebuild kit. can't afford downtime with truck so i might hold off or get kit and clean it up a bit. il see what happens.
thank for reply john
