The 99 should work. The 93 won't. Biggest difference is the 93 has the neutral safety switch in the column, and nowhere to bolt it on the trans. It also is not a PWM trans, and your computer will burn up the torque converter lock trying to PWM a non-pwm trans. The only difference in a 2wd and 4wd is the output shaft. If you have a 2wd trans, most shops will give you a 4wd output for free and install it pretty cheap. You need to check and see if your 97 has the 2 piece bell housing (full aluminum circle, the bottom of it does not come off). If both transmissions are 2 piece bell housings, its a direct swap. Both will have the same exact trans. If its a 1 piece bell housing, you will need to keep the transfer case adapter with the 99 trans, because it has a 6 bolt pattern and yours will have a 4 bolt. Your transfer case will fit the rear of either adapter.

Okay so whats all this I hear about the 99' having totally different electronics? Is that only if it came out from behind a 5.3? And let me see if I got this right. If it cane from behind a 5.7 it will work. If both mine and the 99' are 2 piece (3 piece) then its a direct swap. If mine is a 1 piece then I have to be sure to the the T-Case adapter for the 99' so that I can bolt my T-Case to it. Correct?

And I just want to say thanks for all the help and sorry for all the questions. Theres just so much conflicting info out there you never know. And you got half the people saying it will work and the other half saying it wont. If I had the funds I would just buy a remaned 97' but atm that is not an option.
