Hey Guys,

My truck is basically stock with the exception of the 2011 18" wheels I put on last year (see pic). I've also got a set of brand new stock 17's like pictured below that I'm really considering putting a set of tires on with a more aggressive tread for the winter months. We don't get a lot of snow here, but when we do it would be useful. Plus, I'd just like to change it up for a few months out the year. Any suggestions as to what size tire I can put on there that would have a nice aggressive tread. My truck has no lift on it. Thanks.

Well agreesive wide tires are terrible in the snow. Piza cutting 245s would be choice in the snowy months. I was going to get 285s but in upstate ny theyre terrible.

The Toyo a/t is a great snow tire and I have ran it. But not the a/t2.

Hankook I would highly recommend. I have had both the M/T and the At-m's. I have ran both in winter and summer.
The m/t's are quiet for a mud tire, smaller more spread out tread blocks work surprisingly well on snow pack, and ice.

At-m's same story, preferred now that I don't go out and find mud holes all the time. Smooth riding, work very well on ice. Not as good as the m/t in deep powdery stuff but holds itself very well.

I have ran many different tires and for the price hankook makes great tires.

I ran 245/75/16 Arctic Claw XSI studded winters in the winter and made my truck unstoppable. If lots of snow and ice i'd recommend an actual winter tire. This winter will be my first with my 285 TSR kellys

Goodyear Duratracs are an excellent snow tire for trucks. In fact they have the highest internal Severe Snow rating of any Goodyear tire.

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like it's going to be kind of expensive to do. Not sure it's worth it. May start looking for a good used set around.
