Y'all makin' me twitch here with those "posi-taps". Get some heat-shrink butt connectors. 99.83% less janky. Yup, it's gonna be a pain in the butt to get in there and crimp 'em, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Have you ever physically tried them yourself? I have. They are big with motorcycle enthusiasts and SAE Certified.

Anyone know what this linkage is to? It’s disconnected and it goes to the shifter column.

Brake-to-shift-interlock (BTSI) the device that is supposed to keep you from shifting out of park unless you press the brake first. They go bad and keep you locked in park. A bad brake switch can cause the same symptoms, but it's often the BTSI.

And yeah you can drop the column to fix that wire, but I'd wonder why it was cut in the first place. I'd trace it down before re-connecting it..

Oh so it probably got locked up and then popped off when it was forced I do drive at some point? I’ll try and see if I can drop the column today hopefully that’s my OBD port problem. Do you know how to find the wiring diagrams or some way I can figure out what that wire does?

If you haven't already, you can download the GM factory service manual for your truck here in searchable PDF form for free. Here's a link to the thread. If you don't see your year in the original post, keep scrolling. Other members have added missing years on the later pages.
