The only transmission issue was I have an under warranty 94 4l80e I would like to use if possible, but the 96 4l80e seems fine, yet I know the 94 trans is built. But will use the 96 for simplicity.

if you put engine trans engine harness and cab harness from the 96 and put them in the 94 it should go you will most likely need the under hood fuse box from the 96 as well I do not know if you need the 96 steering column and sector shaft or not

The only thing that was or was not PWM'd was the TCC.
Just when I thought I was following now I'm really confused. 1995 the 4L60E went PWM on the TCC, and 1996 it went PWM on the shift solenoids, is what I understood. You're saying 4L80E's were always PWM on the TCC. Really? All the way back to 1991? And never on any of the shift solenoids? I'll repeat that I dunno, absolutely dunno, so I'm not arguing - it's just going against what I thought was correct. I could totally be wrong.

700R4/4L60 started with a TCC valve, no PWM. PWM was added on top of that after the fact. 4L80 was E from the get go, so came with TCC PWM only from the get go. This is the first I've heard of the shift solenoids going PWM in 96.

I may be too late, but pull the driveshaft or you're going to wreck your transmission! There's no fluid moving to lubricate your bearings on the output shaft of the transmission, whether it's manual or automatic.

Too bad another isn't closer I have just come across a couple 6.5 in my search for a decent 7.4 block . I was actually considering the reverse swap but sounds easier just to get one of the donor 6.5 going.
