Have you measured the ID of the u bolts with a mic?
No. But if I have 2 that fit fine no matter where you put them, and 2 that don't... you follow? 2 fit regardless of the 4 potential spots you could put them, and 2 don't. Anyway I'll be trying tomorrow to see if I can gently squeeze 'em a little bit and have them go though the plates. If not I'll regroup and see what can be done.

@someotherguy i get it, just curious if they sent you the wrong ones. I believe the 1/2ton are 3in axle tubes and 3/4 ton and 1 ton are 3.5in. But if they are simply a “little small” I just try and run them
Not the incorrect parts. All four look identical when laid down on top of each other, it's just a slight variance that speaks of sketchy quality control. :( I'll be digging into it in a few hours once the caffeine kicks in.

Why gently? They're not going to lose clamping ability because they were squeezed by hand.
LOL.. I mean gently by not using anything that would damage the threads. ya know, like bricks, sledgehammers, explosives..

U-bolts persuaded into place and torqued down.. wasn't any bending them by hand, that's for sure. I used ratchet straps in opposite directions to pull the ends closer to each other. Spring and shackle hardware tightened back up, and notch braces re-torqued just to be sure.

Exhaust might need to get chopped/redone for axle clearance. The bend to clear the axle on the driver side is way lower than the passenger side. Or I might just chop it off and dump it behind the muffler.
