Picked them up a month ago because they where cheap, and because I really like steel wheels :head3:

They are OEM 16x6-1/2 from a 91-2500.

I'm contemplating having them widened to 9 or 9-1/2" and Painted black.

Not sure if that is doable though seems there is not enough lip to start with. Also, they seem REALLY heavy, are 2500 wheels different from 1500 wheels?
Yes, 2500 wheels are different than 1500 wheels. 2500 wheels have 8 holes. 1500 wheels have 6. Those are 1500 wheels.

In the 400 series trucks, there are light duty ones with 6 lugs, and heavy duty ones with 8 lugs. Those are more similar to the 3500 8 lug trucks.

Steel wheels are the way to go.
They take a beating, balance easy and don't crack from tire guys beating the weights on.

If they are OEM and not from overseas, they are worth good money for a local sale.
Hire a machinist/DOT Tig welder, if you descide to add width.

Maintain inner spacing, after you determin the tires you will be using.
Adjust offset, very carefully.

You want to maintain the inner wheel to rub clearance, as close to factory design as possible.

When you push the wheels outward, your radius changes and this is when you rub and ruin tires;)

The steel wheels shown are off of a K series truck. They do not fit the front of the C series as they are a different offset and rub on the control arms. I do believe that they will fit on the rear without any problems.
Yeah, that’s pretty well established them being for a K series, but as K wheels with 6 lugs(unless it’s a 6 lug 2500LD), they won’t fit a 5 lug rear either.

Howdy,

Maybe this will give you some ideas. 16 x 6.5 stock rims, powder coated gloss black, with some 95+ center caps & OE trim rings.

Some folks seem to like the look. I do.

Best !
