Thats next / past my scope of backyard mechanicism. Talked to a buddy earlier ; mimicked what yall just said. In the distrivutor / spark plug / coil / rotor now. I tried pullin spark plugs but the boots are stuck on. Looks like I will be pulling it to a mechanic

No popping or even an attempt to start? Check your distributor, cap, rotor, pickup coil, ICM, ignition coil, wires and connectors to each. Is the rotor turning when cranking?
ALL of that.

Failed distributor gears are common on Vortecs, not so common on TBI--but it happens.
Cracked magnets on the mainshaft are common as dirt, and cause poor/intermittent ignition.

Burnt carbon contact in the center of the distributor cap is common, as are failed coil wire, and plug wires. Rotors can have the plastic insulation fail, spark grounds to distributor shaft.
TEST ignition coil output with a spark-tester calibrated for HEI.

Sputtereed, backfired, died, and won't restart? I'd guess ignition module. If you don't have a spare in the glove box, you need one. If nothing else, for swap-tronic diagnosis. Don't forget to put a thin layer of heat sink compound (not dielectric grease!) on the bottom.
