Would not hurt a bit! The newer 4L60Es are built a little better than the early ones, but any transmission is happier with cooler fluid. And if you tow, DON'T tow in overdrive (put selector in D instead of OD).

That's some sound advice right there.

If you are worried about the mileage on the L31 - don't be. Vortec engines run forever when maintained. As for the 4L60E, if it's not giving you problems, then don't look for any. Again - proper maintenance.

It seems you've run across a decent Burb. If it were me, I'd pull the trigger on that deal.

EDIT: BTW, the OP has better spelling and grammar in English than most of the idiots around here (NEPA) and he's in POLAND ffs! Good job @SpitShine_PL

I would take a peek behind the grill on the passenger side and see if the burb does not already have a factory trans cooler

I'd stay with the original t stat. Here where I live -23c is common, and no problems starting or driving. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and go. I'd check cv boots and be ready for front wheel bearings. I second the idea of leaving the trans fluid alone. Just keep it topped off. I've bought into the flush and fill before. It'll kill an old transmission. A cooling system flush wouldn't hurt though. Happy motoring.

Have him send you a picture of the rpo codes in the glove box. That way you can find out what options it was delivered with.

I'd say the trans cooler is part of the tow package based on this window sticker. I'm bringing this old girl home this weekend.
