Nothing wrong with taking longer than expected, that's when you pick up on the sneaky little issues you didn't always notice the first time and can sort them out before going too far to go back. Your design and application is looking top notch, thank you for taking the time to share it with us all.
I enjoy sharing my experience and yeah those “sneaky little issues” are definitely slowing me down but I’m learning a lot as I deal with them.

I got my Ackerman back! Also one of the crossmembers is partially welded in. Some of it still needs boxed in and braced. Yes I know the crossmember looks a bit small but there will be 2 of them so it’s not a problem. I ended up doing 2 smaller crossmembers due to the locations of the rear mount of the diff and the mounts for the rack.

I just rigged up the rack to a battery and jumped the 12v switched. It works as expected. I’m excited about having full power steering even under complete engine failure. Hopefully that won’t ever be a problem but it’s good to have. I have also been looking into an ibooster unit to eliminate vacuum boost. It will provide more assist and greater psi than vacuum ever would. I can’t swap to hydroboost since I have no intention of keeping the power steering pump. This would also allow me to later connect it to the can bus along with the rack and tune my brake and steering feel.

I ended up getting an ibooster gen 2 off an accord for $100. Far cheaper than the Tesla units that easily run $300+ for the exact same part (tesla tax). My booster needed replaced anyway, it was constantly hissing inside the cab when I hit the brakes. I will take a look at the new booster once it gets here and decide, but I think i’m going to attempt swapping a nbs 1.25” master onto it if everything permits. The accord master is I believe 24mm and the largest master that is a direct swap is 26mm. Still not large enough unless I change my pedal ratio. If anyone has any tips or helpful knowledge on CAN systems please let me know, I’m about to start experimenting with the rack and booster to see how much control I can get out of them but my CAN knowledge is still quite limited.

Ibooster came in today. Doesn’t look like anything special but I will clean it up and paint it once I make sure everything works correctly. It’s a good bit lighter than the vacuum booster. Thankfully the plugs came with it. that saves me about $80.

I designed aluminum brackets so the ibooster gen 2 is a direct bolt on swap for any gmt400 using a stock or nbs master cylinder. I’m still working on how to connect the factory pedal to the ibooster but I have an idea for it. I plan on getting the brackets laser cut through sendcutsend. I’ve had good experiences with them in the past. If the final product works good I might do a bulk order of the brackets and sell a kit so others can do the swap. The studs are not shown in the brackets below but the final product will have studs.
