Is that so? I just now, today, thought of it and don't even have the paint yet. I tracked down the name of that paint. It's Duplicolor Dark Canyon Red. Very nice:


I was also thinking of just clear coating the bare engine.

Either that, or the Canyon Red with the already black valve covers, oil pan, and headers. Hmmmm. That means painting the firewall black. I can do that.

That said, I'm certainly not going to sand blast the firewall, lol. I would, however, pressure wash and scuff it up.

Question: This Canyon Red seems to be a Duplicolor product. I can't find it specifically as engine paint or even high heat paint. I wonder if that's going to make a difference.

Not true.

I have Hedman headers and dual exhaust, definitely didn't relocate my tank either, wish I had crossover though like in Erik's pic.

That's a Summit u-bend cut in half and welded into a crossover. It just happened to be the perfect length.

If you notice, in that pic everything is just tacked together for trial fitment. The parts list is in WCJr's build thread, probably somewhere about page 3-5.

Thanks. With a pair of Cherry Bomb Salute mufflers it sounds pretty badass and while law enforcement considers pulling me over, they haven't yet.

As I've mentioned in THIS THREAD, I'm having a hell of a hard time even finding dark red/maroon/merlot/whatever, in an actual ENGINE paint, not just REGULAR ENAMEL paint.
