Since we have a new 96 up Vortec subsection, I thought I would make a new post.

The 12200411 PCM can be installed into the 96 to 2000 GMT400 trucks simply by repining the PCM connector terminals. The wiring is slightly different between the 96, 97, and 98 to 2000 trucks. The 0411 PCM has a much faster processor than the Black Box PCM and has dual timing tables. There is also more support from the tuning software companies for the 0411. EFILive and HPTuners both offer "Custom Operating Systems" for the 0411 to support boost and or nitrous. The swap can be completed in about 2 1/2 hrs and is fairly easy to do. If anyone is interested in the swap just PM me your e-mail address and I will send you a copy. I will not post the files to the web.

Has anybody gotten a spreadsheet from Lextech. I sent a email a couple days ago and haven’t heard back from him. I really need the spreadsheet so I can get this truck going. I was given a email address for him,I hope it was the right one.Thinks.

did you get the email address from the other thread? This thread should be dead. There are multiple posts and links to the other thread stating as much. I got my spreadsheet from him at the same email address stated in the thread linked above

I did the 0411 wiring swap today on my 97 k3500. I got through the top half of the lextec sheet no problem. All old connector wires made it into the new connectors. But then going down the second half of the sheet, I found things that weren't on the first half, specifically "Transmission range switch signal A, P, B, C". It says to make wires going into the 411 connector. What are these? There were no unaccounted for wires coming from the trans. Is it for a manual?

Also I didn't know to ask them to disable alternator codes and the fuel tank pressure sensor until I found those things in the Lextech sheet today. Will they be a problem?

If I were reading that, it means you need to make a circuit yourself, from the transmission range switch connector to the PCM connector. So, you will need a wire and a terminal corresponding to each connector (i.e., two total terminals, more than likely Aptiv/Delphi terminals). And then of course you will need to have a proper crimping tool, or tools, because if it's not a proper crimper, you're not likely going to seat the terminals into their connectors. And you will likely need a seal for the terminal at the transmission connector, as it likely a sealed terminal.

Thanks Para, you are right. It's all explained in a note on the first page that I forgot about.

I believe 1998 and later did not need that. Mine did not and it worked fine.
