Because he's going to blow his money in order to create problems that will take more time, money, effort, and enthusiasm to fix, while accomplishing nothing actually useful. In fact, it's worse than that. Tall tires will make for sluggish acceleration and poor braking, (which the 1500s ALREADY have problems with) while raising the center-of-gravity of the vehicle and adding flabby sidewalls so it won't corner as well as stock either. He's gonna spend money and sacrifice vehicle dynamics for the sole purpose of "looking cool" to people he passes on the street who don't know better, and probably don't care.

I'm trying to save him the hassle. Because I care.

Going from a 235/75/15 to a 31 isn't gonna change much. It's barely an inch taller, and yeah it's wider, but it will fit fine, front and rear. With a 5.7, prolly won't notice much difference in acceleration, or braking. It will prolly handle better cause it's a wider tire, tho rain might pose a some issues.

The whole reason I want to do this is because I feel the truck is just too short for my liking. I don’t care to have to get a workout in to get in a truck but I would enjoy stepping up not pretty much level with my knee. I am a taller person so this probly helps. And yes I am young sorry I want to make something to my liking. That’s the only way I want my trucks to go is up never down. I feel like it looks dumb. This truck is also not going to be a show truck either.

So you want bigger tires and a lift because of vanity?

You seem to have absolutely no need to go through this hassle.
Yeah, I mean half of people who lift there truck is just for looks! (Even if they've convinced themselves otherwise) If you can park your truck and walk away without looking back and thinking, 'Damn that truck's sweet!' Than sumthin Ain't right.

I totally understand! I'm young as well, and I could make excuses for lifting my truck as well, but if you like it, than do it!! Life's to short to not have cool a truck. Lifte'r up. Too many things are going down these days. Low riders are like:badidea::poop:

WHY do you need "bigger tires"?

Why did I get a mohawk and color it blue after thirteen years of a perfectly sensible high-n-tight? Sometimes a peacock's gotta strut. It's fair to point out the downsides of large tires, but if he wants to do it anyways it's his choice. Sure, it might be a mistake, but sometimes you gotta f* around and find out.

Think about getting negative offset rims-it will help truck's stability and then you can run bigger-wider tires too-mine was driving like a pig on european roads (tramlined) until I did that. Now no issues. Mind ya- I tried to keep overall wheel's diameter as close to stock as possible( thinking speedo-didn't help one iota).

I would love to have both my trucks lowered, but "low enough to look really cool" is too low for Houston streets. I'd have to have full skid plates....
One thing about the CCLB, it's long wheelbase helps with ride and stability (especially when loaded!).
