So I did the wiring EXACTLY as depicted in the diagram and fried something. I had slow, sticky actuators and was hoping that these relays would send more juice and locks would work…well now door lock does nothing. Any ideas on what fried and how to check.
OH I Also realized that I had for some unknown reason unplugged the 12V orange/Blk wire from the convenience center.
I had already tried Another relay wiring and wires started to heat up.
So this is the second time I nearly Burn something
This is a 4DOOR dually btw

So the truck switches flow through the normally closed contacts of the new relays, and the remote start fires the relay to either lock or unlock the doors. Easy peasy. I wonder now if that isn't why the door locks don't work on the plow truck, it has a remote start and lock/unlock fob.

Im gonna need to you to do a little trouble shooting with me and we should be able to find problem......
We should be working with light blue as lock and black/red as unlock

#1 we are going to be dealing with the output section of the relays, 87, 87a, and 30. with #30 being our output to the actuator, #87 being our supplied 12v from a power source that able to supple 20 amp, and #87a being the resting from the switch.
this configuration applies to both lock and unlock

#2 pull the relays

#3 I need you to double check that wiring with a couple tests.
a) you should be able to pull wire #87a from the relay and activate the switch on the door and have 12V on the wire connected to
#87a. Use a multimeter or test light to check this.
b) you should be able to use the 12v supple wire and quickly touch it to the #30 wire and trigger the actuator in the door.

#3 If both lock/unlock wiring test fine, plug the 87,87a,30 wires back in.

#4 we will deal with trigger section of the relay.
a) #85 connect to the the 12v source wire so it has a constant 12v.
b) connect the green wire from the viper remote start door lock trigger output to #86 on the lock relay and connect the blue trigger wire to #86 on the lock relay.

If you wire and check your wiring with the above steps the 5 wire system will work. I realize those 4 steps are basic, but my repairs are in the THOUSANDS, just using the basic 4 steps from above!!!!

If any of the tests fail above, that is the faulty part of the system. switch side rarely goes bad unless door panel has seen better days! the problem usually is with the actuator, and it just needs to be replaced and the locking system sprayed down with your favorite brand of lithium spray grease and wd40 the locking mechanism.

If anybody needs futher assistance or has any more questions please ask......
